I had the pleasure of volunteering at Pronghorn Crossing Build Day for one of the Lovas Engineering projects yesterday. Habitat for Humanity of Laramie County relies on volunteers to build homes, providing stability in housing for families in our community.

In 1910, civil engineers in Wyoming rewrote the playbook. When the Buffalo Bill Dam was completed, it stood at 325 feet—making it the tallest dam in the world at the time.
Engineers used a revolutionary single-arch concrete design. The curved shape uses the canyon's natural geometry to push back against immense water pressure.
The strategy set a new standard and served as the design blueprint for the iconic Hoover Dam decades later.

Last week was Engineer’s Week! Chris had the pleasure of joining Bain Elementary’s 3rd graders for a fun engineering project to help the kids learn about the engineering process and help inspire the next generation of engineers. Chris is proud to have participated in this state-wide event for the past 9 years!

This prestigious award honors Christofer’s long and dedicated service to the engineering profession, to the WES society, and to the people of Wyoming. The recognition was officially presented by Bryce Dorr, WES President, in February 2025.
