Free Reads Educational Mentoring Program

Come say Hi!!

This Sunday at 3:00 PM, Free Reads will be on the FDU campus for the commemoration of the March on Washington hosted by the Bergen County MLK Birthday Committee.

Come find our table, say hello, and let’s chat about BOOKS, literacy, community, and FREE READS!

We’d love to connect with families, educators, community partners, book lovers, and anyone who believes that every child deserves access to books and the opportunity to see themselves in what they read.

Come by our table and let’s talk!

Took a long trip to pick up books at BookSmiles for our first Books and Breakfast event!! Super thankful for the folks at for their generous donation!!

When was the last time you read a book out loud to a child?

Reading aloud creates connection, sparks imagination, builds vocabulary, strengthens listening skills, and supports emotional development!!

Children who are read to often develop a deeper love for learning and literacy. The moments shared through stories can become lifelong memories.

“A child who loves to read will be an adult who thinks.”

Pick up a book today and share the gift of reading.

Reading doesn’t have one look, one age, or one path.

In this moment, I’m watching my teenagers dive into what speaks to them. One is lost in anime, the other deep in history. Different interests, same beautiful outcome—curiosity, imagination, and growth.

This is your reminder that reading at every age matters. It builds confidence, expands perspective, and creates space for young people to discover who they are.

Let them explore what they love. Let them read what excites them. That’s where the magic happens!!
