Obviously, businesses survive by growing their customer base. Local charities are not just wonderful outlets for support, but when you engage with and give to these charities, it can build your company's reputation, your brand and your sales. People simply like to support businesses that support their community. (Forbes.com) Please help us thank our Ruby Buckle who support their community.

Someone said, "Life needs more sunshine and sweet tea." Well, our forever friend, Lori, caught this great shot at the rodeo on Saturday night. We certainly had plenty of sunshine and sweet tea. However, who could have guessed you would see a horse drinking sweet tea before competing in the rodeo? Maybe you were able to attend cowboy church on Saturday morning--able to witness the baptism of one of our own contestants just outside the arena. From the silly to serious--so many pictures are in my mind of the rodeo. How about you? What did you see or hear that captures your rodeo experience this weekend?

How can we possibly thank everyone who helped make the Lowrys High School Rodeo such a special weekend? Thanks to Mack and Nancy Stewart for allowing us to use their arena grounds, Ron and Teri Stephenson for the use of their field for overflow parking, Nancy Stewart and Joyce Baker (and children, grandchildren) for providing delicious concessions, and to the SCHSRA for allowing us to host this rodeo. Many volunteers made your experience more enjoyable by helping with parking, ticket sales, garbage collection, and arena preparation/dragging. Many SCHSRA volunteers provided leadership, both inside and outside of the arena, in conducting the rodeo itself. Finally, our sponsors provide the financial support that allows us to have this rodeo in Lowrys. We'll thank them more specifically later. Dr. Jane Goodall was the first person to observe chimpanzees making and using tools. Some say this is one of the greatest discoveries of the twentieth century. She said, "What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make." We are thankful for the many people who choose to make a difference in the lives of our young people, their families, and the many spectators and volunteers associated with high school rodeo. Thank you again, and please forgive us if we failed to list someone. We do appreciate all of you!

Congratulations to Kristen Lee and Trexler Phillips for winning the Stephenson Memorial All-Around Cowgirl and All-Around Cowboy awards this weekend. Thank you to James River Equipment, Diamond Buckle sponsor again this year. You will thank them too when you find the John Deere equipment that is right for you. Whether you are looking for home & garden, utility vehicle, farm & agriculture, or construction equipment; there are great folks to help you at James River Equipment. Josh Turney and Andy Miller will be at the rodeo, along with some John Deere equipment. You don't have to wait for the rodeo to find the right John Deere. Just call 803-325-1555 or check out the James River Equipment website at www.jamesriverequipment.com. You can also stop by their location in Rock Hill (380 N. Anderson Road). Our John Deere tractors may not be as shiny as a new one, but we know we can count on them. You will see one preparing and dragging the arena during the Lowrys High School Rodeo on March 25-26 at 8PM. Tickets (cash only) are $10, kids 6 and under are free. Tickets are only sold at the gate.
