Join us next Saturday, August 15 | 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM for Qur'anic Sciences with Dr. Basyouny Nehela, part of the Islamic Studies Preliminaries Certificate.
This session introduces students to al-Mabādiʾ al-ʿAsharah (the Ten Foundational Principles) of the Qurʾān and its sciences, providing a structured framework for understanding the study of Allah's final revelation. Through Qurʾānic verses, Prophetic teachings, classical scholarship, and practical discussions, participants will explore the definition, purpose, virtues, sources, and major disciplines of Qurʾānic studies.
Topics include tafsīr (Qurʾānic exegesis), asbāb al-nuzūl (occasions of revelation), Makkan and Madinan revelation, muḥkam and mutashābih verses, and al-nāsikh wa-al-mansūkh (abrogation). By the end of the session, students will have a deeper appreciation of the sciences of the Qurʾān and a strong foundation for further study and meaningful engagement with the Book of Allah.
