What’s it like in the CTM paddock in between races?

We were all buzzing after all three of our cars qualified in the top 10 at Road Atlanta in GLTC!

Just got back from my first trip to Wookies in the Woods at the Tail of the Dragon, and what a weekend it was. I took my yellow MK4 GTI — better known as “The Banana” — fresh off its new 5-cylinder swap for its first real test.

Over 500 miles driven, countless hard runs through the Dragon and Hellbender, long scenic cruises, lunch stops, and not a single issue. No breakdowns. No repairs. No drama. Huge success.

Honestly, I was nervous heading out solo with a freshly swapped car and a 3-hour drive each way, but The Banana handled everything flawlessly. We pushed the car hard all weekend.

Wookies was an absolute blast because it’s not your typical car show. It’s not about sitting in a parking lot staring at cars — it’s about driving them. Spending the weekend at Fontana Village, waking up and immediately hitting some of the best roads in the country with an amazing group of VW enthusiasts made for an unforgettable experience.

Big win for me personally, and a big win for Fastech Auto Service. Building cars that can be driven hard, enjoyed, and trusted on long trips is what it’s all about.

Already looking forward to next year.
