๐Ÿ’› Hound 5 Dolla Holla ๐Ÿ’›

Saving animals isnโ€™t cheap โ€” and we wonโ€™t pretend otherwise. On average, we spend $2,000 a week on the dogs in our care. ๐Ÿพ

While we occasionally get a perfectly healthy pup, thatโ€™s rare. Most of our dogs need more than the basics โ€” spays/neuters, vaccines, heartworm treatment, and preventatives are just the starting point.

๐Ÿฉบ Specialist visits alone can run $250+ just for the initial appointment โ€” before any treatment. Sweet Capers racked up nearly $500 at intake alone, and our newest guy Ranger is currently in isolation and not feeling well.๐Ÿคž

Every $5 helps us say YES to the care these dogs desperately need. If youโ€™re able to give โ€” even a little โ€” we are so incredibly grateful. ๐Ÿถโค๏ธ

Willa Belle is the life of the party - the gal everyone wants to meet!๐Ÿ˜‡

Sheโ€™s the perfect mix of energetic enough to keep up, but grown up enough to know when to chill out. Willa would love a home with another dog or two and maybe her own comfy dog bed (although she's happy to share!)

She is 2-3 years old and weighs around 50 lbs. Willa Belle is heartworm positive and received her final heartworm treatment injections this week. She is available for adoption to a home that is comfortable with the activity restrictions for the next few weeks. You can find an adoption application at carolinacoonhoundrescue.com/adopt

What we do know about Folly โ€“ she is beautiful!๐Ÿ˜ At around 5 years old, it breaks our hearts that she more than likely has never been treated too kindly her entire life. Can you imagine not knowing what itโ€™s like to be loved for that long?

The sad truth is that dogs like Folly typically donโ€™t make it out of an overcrowded shelter. Too many dogs to care for and not enough staff or hours in the day to give a girl like Folly time to decompress and learn to trust.

In her foster home, she has gone from hiding in the back of her crate to relaxing on a bed in the room with everyone. We have seen some tail wags, some barks alerting us to weird sounds, happiness when itโ€™s time to eat, finding time to lay down and relax in the yard vs. pacing around, to the occasional allowing you to love on her. While this doesnโ€™t sound like much, itโ€™s huge improvement compared to how shut down she was on day one.

She is still unsure of many things, well most things. We know it will take a special person to give her the life she deserves, but that perfect home for her is out there. She definitely looks to other dogs in her foster home for reassurance and would do best in a calmer home with another dog and fenced in yard.

Folly is heartworm positive and is available for a local Charleston, SC area foster to adopt home that is comfortable with the activity restrictions during treatment. Apply to adopt this deserving girl at carolinacoonhoundrescue.com/adopt

Our stunningly handsome boy โ€“ Beauregard!๐Ÿ˜
He is enjoying life in his foster home and is ready to find his forever family. According to his foster mom, he is probably the sweetest dog sheโ€™s ever interacted with. Beauregard is very low energy and loves curling up on the couch or in a human bed. And he is obsessed with any person he meets.

Beauregard does fine with other dogs, but is more dog neutral and doesn't seem to care if they are around or not. And heโ€™s a really fast learnerโ€ฆas long as food is involved.๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ He would do best in a home without small children and no cats present.

Beauregard is 4 years old and weighs 75 lbs. He is heartworm positive and is available for a local Charleston, SC area foster to adopt home that is comfortable with the activity restrictions for the duration of treatment. You can find an adoption application at carolinacoonhoundrescue.com/adopt
