Job Creator, Community Leader, and Straight-Shooting Conservative Running for Congress in TX-09

As a former candidate to be the next representative for Texas Congressional District 9 I had the privilege of getting to know my competitors pretty well. Most were good, honest, well meaning individuals who truly wanted to serve the citizens of District 9. Our differences were our backgrounds, our views on some policy positions, and how we would serve our constituents. I came to respect each of them. I have not reversed my thoughts on any of my statements made during the campaign. With that in mind and after giving careful consideration of the remaining two candidates, I have endorsed Briscoe Cain to in the Republican runoff election for TX CD-9. Now for the why. We need a representative who will serve the citizens of the district. Who will go to Washington DC and work with the powers that be but no work for them. We also need someone who understands what it is like to live in the shadows of the industries which line the Port of Houston. These industries are important to our district, to the region, the state and much of the nation. It is important to understand their interests and work with them to keep them vibrant and successful. However, it is vital that in doing so we always consider their impact on our citizens. I believe Briscoe will do this more so than his opponent. Briscoe as I, knows what it is like to hear and feel the admittedly rare explosion that has and will again occur. He knows what it is like to look up from his back yard and see the smoke and flames from one of the industrial fires that occasionally occur. His opponent has no idea of the impact living in District 9 has on our families, both positive and negative. She only knows what she has read in a white paper. During the campaign I often heard her speak about the importance of the Port of Houston, which we all agree on, but she never spoke about the importance of the citizens of District 9. I question who she is most wanting to serve, industry, the DC political power brokers, or the citizens of District 9. Briscoe and I do not agree on everything, but neither do my wife and I agree on everything. It is appropriate and expected that two individuals have some differing opinions while still having common ground on principle. Please give my thoughts consideration as you cast your ballot and vote for Briscoe Cain in the Republican runoff election for TX CD-9. Thank you.

Dear Supporters

I have decided to endorse Briscoe Cain in the upcoming Republican runoff election for Texas Congressional District 9.

I believe Briscoe will work hard for the citizens of our district and will give the Republican Party the best chance to beat the Democrats and win this seat in November.

This decision was not made in haste, but after careful consideration of both candidates and the needs of those of us who live in the district.

Over the past few months, Mary and I have gotten to know Briscoe and his family. Like me, Briscoe is from here and lives here. I believe he is a man of honor and integrity who will put the hard-working voters of this district ahead of the special interests trying to buy
this seat.

We deserve a representative who will go to Washington, D.C., to serve while remaining true to his Texas roots and loyal to the citizens of CD-9.

We also need a representative whose home will continue to be in CD-9 — not someone who will just stop by occasionally.

Your support of my campaign is greatly appreciated, and this request is made with the utmost respect for you and your desire for true representative governance.

Again, I humbly ask that you join me in voting for Briscoe Cain in the upcoming runoff election for Texas Congressional District 9.

Sincerely
Dan

Thank you to everyone who supported my candidacy to represent the citizens of Texas Congressional District 9. The support I received has been a humbling experience. The act of campaigning was an amazing experience, which I will treasure forever. Meeting and visiting with people at events and in their homes was the highlight of theses past months. Listening to their stories as they shared their joys, their tragedies, and their challenges. The people of District 9 are amazing. Do not believe what you see on television, there is still a lot of love, kindness, and respectfulness in our community. Even the individuals I met who were supporting a different candidate were pleasant and respectful. The 9th Congressional District is full of strong resilient individuals who work daily to provide for their family and to help strengthen their community. The main take away from these conversations is that people want to be heard and have their concerns and values represented in Washington D.C.. They want honest, sincere, and ethical individuals representing them. That is the type of representation I wanted to bring to the office. Thank you to my family, friends, and supporters who allowed me this opportunity. I fully trust in God’s plan and look to the future with joyous anticipation. Sincerely, Dan.

For far too long Iranians have suffered under a brutal and tyrannical regime. I am hopeful that the Iranian people will soon live in a free country again and that the Islamic Republic will never again threaten the lives of innocent Americans. Praying for our brave service members as they undertake this noble mission.
