Happy National Ballpoint Pen Day! ✍️
On June 10, 1943, Hungarian brothers Lázlo and György Biró patented the modern ballpoint pen -- a simple tool that revolutionized writing by making it smoother, more reliable and accessible to everyone. No more messy ink blots or constant refills -- just a dependable way to put thoughts on paper.
At FullCircle, we love this day because writing is one of the most powerful tools in mental health and recovery. Whether it's journaling your daily inventory in the 12 Steps, writing a gratitude list, scripting an amends letter, or simply brain-dumping anxious thoughts onto the page -- a pen and paper can be life-changing.
Putting words to your experiences helps:
▸ process emotions and reduce mental clutter,
▸ track progress in your sobriety journey,
▸ build self-awareness and clarity,
▸ turn chaos into something manageable and meaningful.
Recovery is about so much more than stopping old behaviors. It's about creating new, healthy outlets for your mind 🧠 and heart. ♥️ Something as everyday as the ballpoint pen can become part of your toolkit for healing.
So go out of your way to pick up a pen today! Write your goals, your wins, a letter to your future sober self, or just doodle something fun. Every word you write is a step forward.
Teens (13-17) and young adults (18-25) in recovery: our no-cost peer support groups designed specially for you combine the 12 Steps with real tools (including writing practices!) and fun sober social events to help you build a life you love.

🫂 Happy National Best Friends Day from FullCircle! 👯
Today we celebrate the friends who show up -- the ones who lift you up, keep you accountable, and make life genuinely better.
In recovery, best friends take on a whole new meaning. These are the people who:
understand the 12-Step journey because they're on it, too;
choose sober fun over old patterns of using;
text you when you're struggling and cheer you on when you're winning;
help you create memories that don't come with regret the next day.
True best friends in recovery don't just tolerate your sobriety. They protect it and celebrate it with you. They're the ones who make sober life feel full, connected -- and actually fun.
At FullCircle, we help teenagers, young adults and parents build these kinds of real friendships through peer support meetings and awesome sober social events. No drama, no substances -- just genuine connection and good times.
So, today, tag your best friends or recovery crew -- or just tell us what you love about your best friends without naming names.
And if you're looking for real friends who support your recovery instead of pulling you backward, we've got space for you! Visit us at FullCircleProgram.com to learn more.

It's one of the sweetest months of the year -- time to enjoy some candy in moderation! A piece of chocolate or a handful of gummies can be fun, harmless treat. But we also know the truth: sugar can be sneaky. Overdoing it can lead to real health struggles -- like energy crashes, mood swings, inflammation, weight gain, and other isssues that hit hard.
Now let's get real for a second.
We hear it all the time in recovery circles: "Sugar is just as addictive as alcohol/weed/to***co, so what's the difference?"
Nice try. 😉 While sugar absolutely deserves respect and balance, equating it to substances that alter the mind, harm the brain's development, hijack your dopamine system, and destroy lives (sometimes just minutes after use) is a classic deflection. One might give you a sugar rush -- while the others can take your freedom, relationships, and future in the blink of an eye.
At FullCircle, we're all about radical honesty in recovery. The 12 Steps help us face reality without excuses -- whether it's sugar habits or harder substances. We support teenagers and young adults in building truly healthy lives with clear minds, real fun and choices that don't require numbing out.
So, this Candy Month, we hope you'll consider -- and resolve to end -- the distractions and deflections that keep you from reaching the bigger goal: a sober, vibrant life you're proud of. And remember: our free peer groups for teens, young adults and parents are here to help you navigate all kinds of cravings with honesty and support. 🌎 Happy World Environment Day! Today, we are celebrating our planet and renew our commitment to protecting the natural world. 🌲 Substance use and its production have a significant -- and often overlooked -- impact on the environment:
▪︎ large-scale to***co (think ni****ne concentrates, too) farming contributes to deforestation, heavy pesticide use, and soil degradation;
▪︎ alcohol production requires enormous amounts of water and energy, with wastewater and chemical runoff affecting rivers and ecosystems;
▪︎ cannabis cultivation (indoor and outdoor) can lead to high energy consumption, water depletion, chemical pollution and habitat disruption.
▪︎ cultivation and manufacturing of all kinds of drugs exposes the environment and people to toxic chemicals, pesticides, fertilizers, and emissions that harm air, soil and wildlife.
These impacts show how substance use disorders don't just affect individuals and families. They ripple outward, affecting people we don't know and the planet we all share.
At FullCircle, we believe recovery is a powerful act of healing for both people AND the environment. When teenagers and young adults break free from substance use through the 12 Steps, they step out of that cycle of harm and begin making choices supporting a healthier body, clearer mind -- and cleaner world.
Recovery opens the door to:
* reconnecting with nature through sober hikes, park clean-ups, and outdoor adventures;
* gaining mental clarity to care more deeply about the world around you;
* building a life of positive impact instead of hidden costs.
A sober life truly can be a greener life.
