Our vision of creating more affordable housing in our community is becoming a reality.

Recently, a few of our dedicated capital campaign committee members had the opportunity to get a sneak peek inside the 12 new entry-level apartments, opening this fall, being created through Waypoint's Creating Hope: A New Vision for the Madge Phillips Center capital campaign.

These apartments will provide safe, stable, and affordable housing for individuals and families experiencing homelessness as they take the next step toward independence.

Housing is more than four walls. It is the foundation for rebuilding lives. It provides the stability needed to secure employment, keep children connected to their schools, improve health, and begin to heal. Every door we open represents a new beginning. Every apartment creates an opportunity for someone to move from crisis to stability, and from surviving to thriving.

We are incredibly grateful to every donor who has believed in this vision and invested in this campaign. We are getting so close to reaching our goal, and we can't wait to welcome our first residents’ home this fall. Together, we are creating hope, one home, one family, and one future at a time.

Tonight, July 29, Waypoint's Street Outreach Coordinator, Katelyn, will lead the Point-in-Time (PIT) Count in Linn County to identify individuals experiencing unsheltered homelessness.

The Point-in-Time Count is a one-night snapshot that helps communities understand how many people are experiencing homelessness, identify local needs, track trends over time, and inform funding and planning for housing and support services.

A special thank you to our community partners who are giving their time to support this important effort: Willis Dady Homeless Services ,HACAP , Area Substance Abuse Council - ASAC, Veterans Affairs, AbbeHealth, UnityPoint Health, and Waypoint. Together, we're working to better understand the needs of our community and strengthen the response to homelessness.
