🌈 The AGA Family is sad to share that Memory (KF's Memorymaker, 7/9/2011) crossed the Rainbow Bridge earlier today, one day after her 13th birthday. Memory was the beloved hound of Pat Whitted. In addition to being a successful racer, Memory was mother and grandmother to a great many AGA adoption alums. She gave so many adopters happiness she didn't even know about. Our thoughts are with Pat and his family during this sad time. 🐾

**WE NEED FOSTER HOMES**
AGA has an opportunity to bring in some retired racing greyhounds from Australia! But, we need committed Foster Homes in order to welcome these hounds to the USA!

Are you a good candidate?
Live in the Austin-metro area.
Time & patience to help grey adjust from a life of racing to living in a home.
Preferred that there be no cats or other small animals in the home as we won't yet know the personalities of new foster hounds.

What are my responsibilities when fostering these wonderful retired racers on behalf of AGA?
Transport your foster greyhound to vet appointment(s).
Provide food and love for your foster greyhound!
Crate train your foster greyhound (AGA has crates to loan, if necessary).
Be available to introduce your foster greyhound to potential adopters.

What are retired racing greyhounds like to live with?
Greyhounds are sight hounds, not scent hounds.
Greyhounds are intelligent, clean, quiet, and gentle.
Greyhounds have varied personalities from goofy & happy to shy.
Greyhounds require limited exercise.
Greyhounds are good in apartments.
Greyhounds are not known for barking

🌈 The AGA Family is sad to share that Rocket ("Kute Boy" 3/20/2013) crossed the Rainbow Bridge on March 12th after a battle with lymphoma. Rocket was the beloved hound of Leslie and Kirk Winemiller of College Station. Our thoughts are with Leslie and Kirk during this sad time.
Leslie shared the following remembrance of Rocket: "It’s with very sad hearts that we must relay the news that our beloved greyhound, Rocket (AKA Kute Boy; Sept. 20, 2013-March 12, 2024), crossed the Rainbow Bridge this past Tuesday as a result of lymphoma. He was a special dog, and there will never be another like him. We feel so fortunate to have had him in our family for the past 8 years and will miss his ever present “footprint” in our household. He was slow to adapt to our home, but over time accepted us as family and shared his gentle, loving self. We will miss his exuberant greetings on arriving home, bouncy romping laps around the yard, begging for a piece of cheese at our kitchen step, nudging our hands for pets, cooling off with a dip in our garden pond, walks down our country road, and even panting near our bedside during a thunderstorm. He never mastered our tile floors and always required a wide berth to exit our doorways, but we were always willing to accommodate his needs, because he returned the favor in so many ways. We will truly miss our dear gentle giant." 🐾

🌈 The AGA Family is sad to share that "Doc" (Tk Doctor T, 6/20/2015) crossed the Rainbow Bridge on March 1st after a battle with Osteo. Doc, adopted in Jan of 2018, was the beloved hound of Troy & Stevi Schukencht. Our thoughts are with the Schukencht family during this sad time. 🐾
