🌈 The AGA Family is sad to share that Jax (Reset Remedy, 3/4/2014) crossed the Rainbow Bridge earlier today after a brief but severe battle with bone cancer. Jax was the beloved hound of Martha & Robert Grissom. For hound-lovers that frequented AGA Meet & Greets, Jax was a well-known AGA Ambassadog promoting adoption as only Jax could do! Jax never knew he only had 3 legs! Martha describes him as a loveable goofball, always happy to be around whatever humans were giving him attention. Jax played loving foster brother to many AGA hounds as they were awaiting their forever homes. Jax will truly be missed but forever in our hearts. Our thoughts are with the Grissom family during this sad time. 🐾

First, almost all of our in-person fundraising has been canceled. Then as COVID started winding down, people started getting back to a somewhat normal life, but help for adoption groups like ours has been forgotten. This has not stopped AGA from bringing in Greyhounds whenever we can.

Agomeadlar, Bob Thecooper, & Henry's Delight have all arrived to AGA fosters in Austin! All are happy and surely ready for a rest after their long flight from the UK to Dallas!

Y’all it’s amazing that we are getting hounds from Ireland in to foster and adopt. Truly an amazing time for these greyhounds.

🌈 The AGA family is sad to share that Sauna (Atascocita Sauna, 5/19/2012) crossed the Rainbow Bridge earlier today after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Sauna was the beloved hound of AGA Secretary, Karthika Senthilkumar. When Karthika first met Sauna at a Petsmart AGA Meet & Greet, it was love at first sight. And Sauna came to many more meet & greets and other events after that. She'll truly be missed by all that got to know her. Our thoughts are with Karthika at this sad time. 🐾

Looks like recently adopted Junebug (one of the Fab Four rescue puppies) has settled into the good life in her forever home! 🐾

Help Whip get a wheelchair!, organized by Jess Ferlan

We know many of you must remember sweet Whip, who had been shuffled around in his senior years before finding his way to AGA. Whip was recently adopted by a wonderful family that wanted to give him a loving home, not in spite of his age but because of it! Whip beat skin/coat issues, being underweight, dental issues, and heartworms. We couldn't have been happier for Whip and his adopted family!
Sadly, Whip has just been diagnosed with osteo cancer and will lose a leg. Normally, we've seen greys that have led wonderful long lives as tripod hounds. However, due to his age and already unsteadiness, Whip would likely benefit from a wheelchair. His adopters have established a GoFundMe page to accomplish this goal.
While this is not an AGA fundraiser and funds are being raised solely by Whip's family, we are totally in support of this worthwhile effort to help our AGA adopted alum, Whip, get the support he needs to win again this new challenge.
We know Whip and his family will appreciate any donation you can make! 🐾

🌈 The AGA Family is sad to share that Alfa (KB's Like A Fox, 8/6/2011) crossed the Rainbow Bridge on 7/23/2022 from complications due to cancer. Alfa was the beloved hound of Shawne & Kevin Dore.
From Alfa's family: "We are heartbroken to say the least! Alfa was definitely one of a kind. He was wonderful, easygoing, smart and one heck of a fast racing greyhound...with his own Walk of Fame star at Palm Beach Kennel Club as you know. ⭐️ The first box was also named in his honor called the "Fox Box". Very cool! There will never be another greyhound like him."
Our thoughts are with the Dore Family during this sad time. 🐾

🐾 AGA is seeking volunteers to fill two vacant positions on our Board of Directors: Treasurer and Secretary. If you are interested in filling one of these positions, please contact us for more details at [email protected].
We are also seeking volunteers to serve on various committees covering event planning, fundraising, and foster recruitment. If you are interested in volunteering, please let us know!
