It takes a special kind of dog to be a service dog. A good candidate to be a service dog is a confident and social dog. A dog that is easygoing and likes to greet every new person. Remi carries all of those qualities and more! Although we aren't allowed to pet Remi he still makes an impact on our team daily! Watching John train Remi is also worthy of admiration. The love these two have for each other is beautiful.
Our team at One Elite Realty has recently had the pleasure to help volunteer at The Dog Alliance in Cedar Park, a non-profit that provides professional instructions for civilians and veterans who want to train their own service dogs. On Thursday, May 5th, The Dog Alliance along with Meals On Wheels and The Green Door, will be hosting an event with over 200 volunteers who will be representing The Home Depot to complete a number of projects on their campus!
Also, a huge shoutout to Valdez Remodeling & Weatherization Inc. for giving back to the community and building the beautiful fence extensions for The Dog Alliance campus. They are a family business located in East Austin and have been in business for over 30 years!
Thank you to the team and volunteers at The Dog Alliance for letting us be a part of the training in preparation for the event! We look forward to Thursday! Stay tuned for more doggie content (:

- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 cup 100% pumpkin puree
• mix/knead ingredients into a dough
• roll out 1/2 inch thick
• cut out cookies & place on parchment paper
• bake at 350 for 20-25min
• cool, then eat!

Boomer and Tessa love their "job" as Bow Wow Therapy Dogs. They bring their everywhere. Some days they bring comfort and hugs as this past week visiting elementary school students who unexpectedly lost a member of their community. Never underestimate the healing power of dogs.

The Dog Alliance story
The Dog Alliance is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that strives to improve lives through therapeutic programs based on the bond between humans and canines. Our main community-outreach programs are the Hounds for Heroes and Bow Wow Therapy Dogs programs. Additionally, we provide basic to advanced dog training classes and summer camps for dog-loving children ages 5-15 available to all members of our community.
The Hounds for Heroes program trains service dogs to improve the quality of life for veterans with post-traumatic stress and or mobility challenges.
The Bow Wow Therapy Dog program trains and certifies therapy dogs and their handlers who visit over 300 sites a year including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and nursing homes; provides assistance to at-risk readers at schools and libraries through the Bow Wow Reading Dog program; and provide stress relief at a wide variety of locations, including nonprofit and for-profit organizations, courts, offices and college campuses.
