Meet My Staff Monday! 🎉🫶

I thought it would be appropriate to start TRYING 😆🫠 to post more on the internet, so here’s what the first round has to say of the Monday series ⬇️

‘We’re the production team at Thread & Ink Co.

Apparently we’re “equipment.”

We prefer production team since that’s literally our job. We produce the product.

Our boss likes to call herself a ‘one-woman show,’ which is honestly PRETTY rude considering we do all the work. All she does is push ‘send’. 🙄

Our specialties include:

printing, cutting (when WE feel like it), going through expensive supplies (like it’s our job), requiring frequent maintenance (we don’t even earn frequent flyer miles for this), and flashing mysterious error messages at the absolute worst possible time (maybe the boss should stop putting the pro in PROcrastinating. 🤷).

We don’t get paid. Benefits aren’t even a thought. Management is questionable. What even is this life 🥊

But the commute is fantastic, so can’t complain there. Well, it would be nice to see daylight sometimes. ☀️

Overall, morale is low. We’ll work on it when our boss starts bringing us more snacks. 🍪

I’M STILL HERE and I have gone absolutely nowhere. [literally, still in my basement 😂]

And, of course, MY FAVORITE, your last minute girl. IYKYK. 😆

The truth is, social media and marketing suck the energy right out of me. And when they take my energy, they also take my creativity. which I can't have when I’m quite literally in the business of being creative.

I have [extreme] ADHD. My brain never wants to stop learning, creating, hyper focusing, experimenting, or finding its next challenge. Because of that, it looks like I jump from project, product, idea, or even business [🤝hello, I'm a serial entrepreneur, nice to meet you 🤝] to the next.

And honestly, it looks like I do, because.. I DO 😂

But it isn’t because I’m trying to chase every possible dollar or take advantage of anyone. LBVS, neither of those things are true.

It’s because creating new things feeds my brain. Learning new equipment excites me. Solving a customer’s oddly specific problem makes my day. And sometimes I genuinely need to follow an idea just to find out where it might lead.

I can’t make fake, perfectly polished posts just to please an algorithm. I can’t blast customers with daily promotional texts or pretend to be someone I’m not. I don’t know how to be anyone but myself and I'm not interested in pretending otherwise.

So, yes, Thread & Ink Co. [formerly B.B. Boutique] may look a little all over the place.

Because it kind of is.

There is one person behind the scenes, and that person is also a little all over the place (okay a lot all over the place) 😂 But every piece of it is GENUINE. Every new idea, product, project, and challenge comes from something I truly wanted to learn, make, or share.

Over the last several years, I’ve learned SO much about how my brain works. If you have any kind of neurodiversity, you already know that understanding your own brain is not an overnight experience. I’ve gone to therapy, worked toward becoming the best and healthiest version of myself, encouraged everyone else to go to therapy too, [seriously, everyone, go to therapy] and slowly figured out what kind of creative life actually works for me.

One of the biggest things I’ve learned is that I don’t need to force myself into one tiny, perfectly marketable box. I couldn't even if I tried.

I love making apparel.
I love designing stickers.
I love doing your kids' birthday shirts.
I love books, candles, signs, gifts, school spirit, and trying something I’ve never done before.
I love being the person you message when you need something funny, announcing a HUGE life event [this one always makes me feel so special to be trusted with secrets 🥹] unusual, merch for your small business, customized, or finished by tomorrow. 😂

Thread & Ink Co. isn’t disappearing. ⬅️⬅️⬅️⬅️⬅️

It’s growing, experimenting, learning, evolving, and occasionally wandering a side quest.

I won't post every day. I usually go quiet while I’m creating behind the scenes. I'll randomly show up in your feed with something completely different from what I made or started today.

But I’m still here. Still learning, creating, taking ideas and the best one yet, still your 'I wonder if Annie can make this' girl.

& still trying to figure out where a new mystery bruise came from.

Just make sure to email or text me because Facebook doesn't show my notifications 98% of the time. 🤣

And I wouldn’t want to build this business, live my life, any other way. It's only taken me 35 years to figure this out 🤪
