Bernie Adkins, Lexington 2 Innovation Center

Bernie Adkins is a graduate of Spring Valley High School and Midlands Technical College. He accepted a job for a Graphics teaching position at Brookland-Cayce in 1993. For many years, Bernie was the CTE department head at BC. Bernie’s unwavering commitment to student development, his innovative teaching methods in graphics and technology led his classes to produce professional quality t-shirts, banners, signs and more used throughout the district for many years. The current Lexington School District 2 Logo was created by Mr. Adkins. Bernie served as the Lexington 2 CTE coordinator and as a district wide tech coach before becoming the assistant director of the Lexington 2 Innovation Center. His largest accomplishment was seeing the Lexington 2 Innovation Center from concept to creation. He presented to every civic group in the district to spread our message of the power of career and technical/trades education. He gave tireless energy to the creation of our building and researched every detail of each program to launch our school. His school was an environment where curiosity was encouraged, creativity flourished, and every student had the opportunity to thrive.

It’s Dog Washing Day in the Small Animal Science Classroom! 🧼🐶

Today, our students got hands-on experience learning about proper grooming techniques while pampering some furry friends! From lathering up with dog-friendly shampoo to drying off with gentle towels, we focused on keeping our canine companions clean and happy.

Not only did we learn about hygiene and care, but we also had a blast bonding with these adorable pups! 🥰🐕

Stay tuned for more updates on our small animal science adventures! 🐾❤️

Thank you to Rowan Martin from the digital multimedia program for the beautiful pictures.
