Our 12-year-old has been more and more interested in woodworking and learning to responsibly use power tools. She was very excited to build this bat house with Ethan, a project that has been on his list for awhile! The cuteness was not fully captured in these photos! 💜

Ya’ll! I did a thing! As you may remember, I picked up a new hobby a few months ago, stained glass! And I have been enjoying it so much I don’t have room for all my creations. So I rebooted my Etsy shop after many dormant years to include stained glass designs and patterns. They won’t last long so head over quick while they last. And tell your friends too! Be sure to tell me what you think too!

Growing up, I enjoyed watching my dad and his hobbies, which included making kaleidoscopes, wind chimes and STAINED GLASS! Some of my fondest memories were going to craft shows and helping work his booth. He hasn’t touched stained glass in maybe 25 years but about a year ago, I asked him to teach me. Once an English teacher (please ignore my poor grammar and total disregard for proofreading- I promise, he tried really hard), then board of Ed supervisor and now professional photographer, we had a difficult time finding time until just after Thanksgiving this year. Here were a few of the projects I was able to complete- super fun and certainly more of a learning curve than I’m used to. But it’s been lots of fun learning from my dad and I’m so grateful he hung onto so much of his glass and supplies!

Our youngest only wanted to make valentines for dogs this year. So all the doggy cousins and neighbors got hand-dipped white chocolate bones!

My beautiful niece, turned 21 and we had a super fun, tiny family party that I took completely over the top! In addition to a bunch of alcohol related gifts, I made her this cute little wine themed embroidery (thanks ). Side note, I’m so proud of this strong, smart, amazing young woman!

Finishing up the last of the homemade Christmas presents and now onto the wrapping. I did LOTS of embroidery ornaments for friends and family, but this one was probably my favorite - COVID Christmas! It was adapted from a pattern from .store which was just winter elements, and I added the TP, mask and germ! I think the black backing is my personal best, but I also made it with white and off white backing.

I am so excited that the Christmas season is finally in full swing! Give me the cold air, all the lights, Sia’s Christmas album on loop, and as many decorations as I can get my hands on. The Home Depot is for sure helping me up my Holiday decor game! Savings
