This Sunday, Genesis UMC gathered at Bond Lake to worship in nature as we concluded our “A Pleasure to Serve” series. Pastor Shawn preached on 1 John 3:11–22, reminding us of this exhortation: “Let us love, not in word or speech, but in deed and truth.”
In response to this call, we collected food items to help stock the pantry at NeighborUp (formerly Dorcas Ministries), one of our longest-standing local partners. We also heard from Ande Curry, Vice President of Community Services at NeighborUp, who shared some of the many ways Genesis and NeighborUp have worked together over the years to serve our neighbors and strengthen our local community, offering a meaningful reminder of what it looks like to love our neighbors "inDeed."
We can't wait to see you this Sunday at 11am at Bond Park!
