"As of October 14, 2022, we had 5.1 million unprocessed individual returns received this year. These include tax year 2021 returns and late filed prior year returns. Of these, 1.8 million returns require error correction or other special handling, and 3.3 million are paper returns waiting to be reviewed and processed."

The standard deduction will be INCREASED for tax year 2022 as follows: If you file single or married filing separate - $12,950. Married filing jointly or qualifying widow - $25,900. Head of Household - $19,400.
