Carthage Early Childhood's second annual Family Fun Night was a huge success! Thank you to all the families who came and joined us for popcorn, books, and fun activities.

Thank you to Johnson Vorhees and Martucci for the generous donation of a sweatshirt and hat for each of our students. We love them!

Carthage Early Childhood students and staff had a wonderful time at Diamond Grove Adventures last week! The weather was perfect and the animals were friendly as the students got first hand experience about farm animals. They got to feed and pet pigs, goats, and bunnies, ride a train, and have many fun adventures.

Preschoolers welcomed in summer with a fun outdoor water day! We had a blast!

Today is National Principals' Day, and here at Carthage Early Childhood, we are celebrating that we have the world's best principal! Thank you, Ms. Kim, for all of your hard work and dedication. Your love for our students and the care you have for each and every staff member is noticed and appreciated.

Ms. Emily's classes had a tasting party today! As part of the center's unit on Gardening, the class tasted a wide variety of fruits and vegetables such as cucumber, lemon, raspberry, tomato, and carrot. What a sweet (and sour!) way to learn!

Ms. Cara G and her class planted grass seed as part of the early childhood program's lessons on gardening! The kids had the opportunity to get into the dirt and sprinkle grass seed while discussing what plants need to grow. The kids will spend the next few weeks tending to their grass and learning new vocabulary terms, as well as learning about the responsibility of caring for plants!

Ms. Julie's classes recently completed a directed drawing of a cow to wrap up the Farm unit. Directed drawings involve following directions and visual cues to create a drawing. Students practice following directions, strengthen fine motor skills, increase listening skills, and gain confidence in their artistic abilities.

If you would like to try a directed drawing with your child at home, there are lots of examples online! Ms. Julie's class followed the directions of the Art for Kids Hub on YouTube. The channel has a variety of drawings for all skill levels.
