AV Design Integration in NYC was faced with an unusual room requirement: on-wall surrounds on the left side of the room and in-wall surrounds on the right side. Fortunately, our Sage Series is available in three installation options — in-wall, on-wall, and freestanding — all using the exact same drivers. From there, we compensate for each speaker’s installation type within our SA-DSP amplifiers, helping ensure a cohesive, unified sound experience even when the physical installation methods are different.

More from Chuck: Some background on the home owner. He was an avid 2 channel guy - for as long as I have known him. Spectral amps, Magico speakers, fancy cables, custom room, etc. And it was probably one of the very best 2 channel rooms I have ever heard. But when he came to visit me some number of years ago [Line 2s + L8i’s + ICS7a's] and I played some 2 channel music [thru Auro] he looked at me and said “my system won’t do that”. Fast forward to now. He is simply blown away. After my calibration the next day I received a text from the client. "I just had the best listening session ever. You nailed it yesterday. I listened to all kinds of music. Big orchestral pieces, which I don’t usually spend much time listening to, were incredible. I must admit that I’m listening at volumes that would have been impossible in the past.”

The team was brought in as the recommended vendor for a newly built home with a room not originally designed for theater use, the had to overcome minimal wiring and asymmetrical seating that created serious acoustic challenges.

Using high-performance audio including our Sage Cinema Line Source speakers, Trinnov Altitude 16 processor, and a Sony Bravia 9 projector paired with a Panamorph anamorphic lens throws a stunning image onto a 156” Stewart Filmscreen Acoustically Transparent wide screen. They engineered the space so every seat feels like the sweet spot while delivering breathtaking visuals and immersive sound.
