Columbus under construction to become America's first 'smart city' In 2016, Columbus, Ohio won the U.S. Department of Transportation Smart City Challenge and received $40 million dollars to develop smart technology in their city.

5D™ enables smart, safe, and precise autonomous navigation that works seamlessly in cluttered environments, inclement weather, or indoors. The company's PulsON™ Ultra Wideband (UWB) wireless sensors provide precise radio positioning and radar sensing for connected vehicles, industrial and heavy equipment, defense/security applications and drones.

The PulsON™ 440 (P440) OEM module forms the core of 5D's positioning solutions. Produced by its subsidiary, Time Domain, the P440 uses the speed of light to measure the distance between two sensor/transceivers. It has a operating range of over 350 meters and ranging accuracy of 1 centimeter. Applications include safe navigation of vehicles and robots, autonomous vehicle follower systems, collision avoidance, and precision surveying. It can also be used as a short range (30 meters) radar for obstacle avoidance, proximity sensing, intrusion detection, and drone altimetry.
