Poke Fresh Ohio

For those of you who know me… you know I might be Stark County’s biggest Cleveland Guardians fan! Just wanna wish the boys the best of luck in the ALDS starting in just a few hours up at Progressive Field. Let’s remind the Chicago White Sox that the AL Central still runs through CLEVELAND! Messick > Murikama

Happy *Victory Friday* to those who celebrate! Today you should add a little extra orange and brown sauces to your bowl. If you make a mess, you can use a terrible towe… errr… I mean a napkin, to clean up! Here we go Brownies, here we go!!! 🐶🐶🦴

POKÉ HACK: If you’re a spicy girl (or guy), and usually do the sriracha aioli… try this instead: halé + ponzu + wasabi aioli. This combo is gonna take you around the world and back again in each bite. The halé gives you that umami with a touch of sweet, the ponzu is gonna give you some brightness with the citrus undertones, and the wasabi aioli is gonna give you just the right amount of heat & sweet.

Monday’s suck. That’s a proven scientific fact. You know what helps get your Monday started off on the right foot? A delicious, hearty, clean and healthy poké bowl from Poké Fresh. You’ll get all the taste, flavor and filling… without the afternoon nap required. Come taste the Poké Fresh difference.

We’re over here watching the internet fight over AI used in restaurant marketing… and we’re all like “wait, did y’all say AI, or AHI?” 😂🤷🏼‍♂️🐟
We don’t mess with the AI. But we do, 100% unequivocally mess with the AHI tuna! Swing by and find out why… [insert drooling emoji]

What exactly is poké? Glad you asked! Poké, which is the Hawaiian word for “to cut or cube”, is an island dish that basically mixes proteins, greens, sauces, and crunches into one bowl. While the traditional Poke bowl usually features raw proteins like wild caught ahi tuna and Norwegian salmon, we *also have* 100% fully cooked options like locally sourced grilled chicken, crab and shrimp. Whichever protein(s) you choose; you can add them to a bowl of white sushi rice, brown rice, two greens options, or a combo of all! Then it’s time to pick all your fresh cut veggies, some crunch for texture, and any of our six signature sauces. Whether you like sweet, salty, spicy or all of the above, we’ve got a bowl just for you!

So I don’t normally do this on the Poké Fresh account, but I wanna give a shout out to The Howlin Bird in Massillon. Was tired after a long day at my own restaurant so I decided to grab one of their Detroit style pizzas on the way home. Got the “Spicy Dicey”. Pickled jalapeño, banana peppers, sausage and hot honey. That thing was fire. Both literally and metaphorically. 🔥 Sweet, savory, spicy and a beautiful crunchy texture with their thick crust. If you’re looking for something a little different in a pizza… give them a try. As always, when you can, try and EAT LOCAL and SHOP SMALL. (P.S. this isn’t a sponsored post or anything, I don’t know them from a hole in the wall. Just like to give local spots props when they create something special. Keep up the good work y’all). (( double P.S. sorry for being lazy and pulling a pic from your website, but mine was gone before I even had a chance to snap a pic 😂)

I received this email today, and while it would be easy to react defensively, I don’t believe it came from a place of hate. I think it came from someone who is tired of feeling like he’s being ripped off everywhere he turns…something a lot of us can relate to right now. So instead of criticizing the sender, I’d like to use it as an opportunity to explain something many customers understandably don’t know about third-party delivery apps.

DoorDash takes 28% off the top of every order placed through its platform. Meanwhile, the average restaurant operates on a profit margin of only about 5–8%. That’s why our DoorDash prices are higher than our in-store prices. We aren’t marking them up to make some enormous profit; we’re charging what we need to charge so that, at worst, we can break even on those orders. At the end of the day, we are still a business…and if a business cannot make at least a small profit, it eventually closes.

The truth is that many small-business owners in 2026, including myself…are overworked, stretched thin and struggling to make ends meet. We keep showing up because we love what we do, we love the people we serve, and, frankly, we still love the game. We understand that people are frustrated by how expensive everything has become. We feel it too. A little context, and a little grace in both directions… can go a very long way.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support Poké Fresh, whether you order delivery, pick up your food or walk through our door. Every order helps keep a local business moving forward, and we never take that support for granted. Times are difficult for a lot of people, but I still believe we’ll get through them by treating one another like human beings and giving each other the benefit of the doubt. - Jonathan
