Science came to life today! π§ͺβ¨
Our students explored the fascinating world of Newtonian fluids, discovering how some liquids behave differently depending on the amount of force applied. Through hands-on experiments, they observed, tested, and learned that science is all about asking questions, making discoveries, and having fun along the way!
We love creating opportunities for students to learn through curiosity and creativity that make every lesson memorable. π¬

Today we celebrate Juneteenth, a day that reminds us of the enduring hope, strength, and freedom that every person deserves.
At Lighthouse Ministries, we believe every child is uniquely created by God with incredible gifts and the ability to make a difference in the world. We are grateful to walk alongside the children and families of Southeast Canton, creating spaces where every student is welcomed, encouraged, and given opportunities to grow.
As we celebrate today, may we continue to build communities where kindness, understanding, and love help every child flourish.
Happy Juneteenth! β€οΈπππ€

What a great way to kick off our summer field trips! π¦π
Our students spent the day exploring the amazing animals at the Akron Zoo before heading to Weis Park to enjoy playtime and time together outdoors. From discovering incredible wildlife to making memories with friends, it was a day full of adventure, laughter, and learning.
To make the day even more exciting, Mr. John challenged students to pay close attention as they explored the zoo. At the end of the visit, any student who could share five new facts they learned about the animals earned an award! It was a fun way to encourage curiosity, ask questions, and discover something new along the way.
We love giving students opportunities to explore new places, build friendships, and experience the world beyond the classroom. This is just the beginning of an exciting summer, and we can't wait to see where the next adventure takes us! β¨

Our Cultivate kids are getting creative with clay once again! π¨
Students recently kicked off a new season of pottery by learning the foundations of working with clay and exploring how reclaimed materials can be reused for future projects.
The studio was filled with curiosity, creativity, and plenty of smiles as students learned new skills and expressed themselves through art.
Thank you, Teresa, for helping our students discover new skills and express their creativity through pottery. π©΅

For this monthβs staff spotlight, weβre excited to recognize Trish, our Childcare Administrator! β¨
For Tricia, Lighthouse has been more than a workplace. It has been part of her story since she was a fifth-grade student at Belden Elementary. She went on to participate in Venture Club, Middle School Club, and High School Club before returning years later as a volunteer and eventually joining our staff in 2018.
Today, Tricia helps create a safe, high-quality experience for the students and families we serve. She was instrumental in Lighthouse becoming a licensed and star-rated program through the Ohio Department of Children and Youth in 2020.
In addition to her role at Lighthouse, Tricia has been an educator for more than 16 years and currently serves as an intervention specialist at the Early Learning Center at Schrieber. She is also a proud mom whose children have grown up participating in Lighthouse programs.
We are grateful for Tricia's leadership and her commitment to the community that helped shape her own journey.π§‘

We always love having students and leaders from Kingsway Christian School serve alongside us! π©΅
This incredible group of 7th graders helped refresh multiple spaces across our Lighthouse campus and even installed new steps in our garden area! Their hard work and willingness to serve made such a meaningful impact as we prepare our spaces for summer. β¨
A heartfelt thank you to Kingsway Christian School for continuing to partner with us and invest in our community. It is always a joy and a blessing to welcome these amazing students to Lighthouse, and we already look forward to having them back again! π
