Massachusetts Institute of Technology launched the Environmental Solutions Initiative (ESI) in 2014 as a major campus-wide effort to coordinate and develop interdisciplinary solutions to urgent challenges in environment and sustainability. ESI aims to harness the MIT community’s ingenuity and the Institute’s unique culture of collaboration through diverse activities in education, research, and convening.
