Just a couple of clean-cut dudes hanging out on the beach in Croatia! Electric Elephant festival, I guess 2010? Though only knew him in passing, when we’d run into each other, Andrew was a huge inspiration for me, especially as a chug advocate, and still is.

This Thursday I’ll be Bossa Nova Civic Club for the awesome SYNTHICIDE party with Andi Harriman and Kiddo Sincere! Super excited for this, I’ve long wanted to play this party and love a Thursday outing! Thanks so much to Andi Harriman for having me!

This coming Friday I’ll be at Nightmoves Nightmoves in Brooklyn! Super excited to play here, can’t believe this will be my first time!

Me and the absolutely lovely Victor Rodriguez looking like youngsters. He invited me to LA to play his Otter Magic party and all I remember is that it was an amazing night! Sign of the times, that t-shirt is definitely printed on American Apparel. The beards are grayer now, but both still going strong!

Diggng up music new and old for my all night open-to-close outing at Good Room this Saturday. Featured is the recent reissue of the Matthew Dear remix of Happy House, which was always a bit of a secret weapon, but now updated with an EDIT / REMIX of the REMIX by Mark E ! That came out on The Vicious Charm a while back, long time ally of DFA Records through a couple of iterations.
The thing about a record collection, for me, is it’s a kind of library of musical memories. So much music I just wouldn’t think of when rifling through digital files, which I certainly do a lot of as well.
Holding it down in the Bad Room all night will be —(••÷ 𝔠𝐚ⓡρ𝐞𝔱 (Ｆ.ℓ.卄.ᵖ) ÷••)—, so a real choose your own adventure if long form DJ’ing, though I do always wish I had a few more hours at the end of these.

Packed up the Subaru with the Infinty Machine to take a road trip to Musique Electronique to play an Infinity Machine set. Greg is on a vision quest, and aside from the issue of transporting instruments, thought it would be fun to head out on the open road like I did so many times touring in vans with sixfingersatellite and this has definitely tweaked many memories. To think we’d play at least three cities in Ohio alone is wild now, home to heroes like Pere Ubu, Devo, The Pagans, and contemporaries like Brainiac.
You get a real, visceral feel for the complexity and diversity of the USA when you drive across the country vs flying. I remember one time, probably around 1995, Six Finger Sateliite was on tour and we rolled up to a venue somewhere in a weird place in Ohio (if my memory is correct), too early, before anyone was there. Me, J, and Rick (James apt and James Murphy were probably either looking for coffee or records) were sitting on the sidewalk outside the venue in a real run down part of town. We’d often stay near the van to avoid getting robbed. A cop rolled up and rolled down his window, he had a big cop moustache and mirror shade cop sunglasses. This was nothing new for us, and Rick and I knew to let J do the talking. We braced ourselves and the cop said ‘hey, do you guys know what time Six Finger Satellite are playing?’ J responded with something like ‘yes sir, 11:00pm,’ to which the cop responded ‘ok cool, see you then,’ and drove away.
