We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Thakore to the General Optical family! She joined us earlier this year and already feels like she’s been part of the team for years. Dr. Thakore brings a wealth of experience, with her education from the UK and in Boston, as well as professional work in Kenya and the UK. She is also a dedicated clinical educator, having taught at the New England College of Optometry (NECO). For the past 20 years, Dr. Thakore has served the Boston community, including area hospitals. Passionate about an individualized and holistic approach, Dr. Thakore is committed to providing exceptional, personalized care to every patient. We’re excited for you to meet her! 👓✨

Meet our Doctor: Dr. Crystal Klaahsen!!
Dr. Crystal Klaahsen, current owner and optometrist at General Optical, has been a cornerstone of the practice’s success and patient care. Originally from Minnesota, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Minnesota before receiving her Doctorate of Optometry from the New England College of Optometry in Boston. With extensive clinical experience across several Boston-area hospitals and clinics, Dr. Klaahsen is known for her expertise, precision, and genuine care for every patient she serves. Her dedication to educating patients about their eye health and maintaining long-term vision wellness has left a lasting impact on the General Optical community.
