Our latest Women in Agriculture Initiative annual report shows that the number of Gender Equity Advisory (GEA) services we provided increased by more than 300% from 2022 to 2023.

GEA services help agricultural enterprises diagnose barriers to women’s equitable participation. In addition, the GEA allows enterprises to identify opportunities for gender-inclusive growth and development in partnership with Root Capital staff.

What does it take to turn a local farming organization into a thriving enterprise? For Faranaya Agribusiness Centre, it started with bold partnerships and innovative solutions.

With support from Root Capital, Faranaya increased its sorghum supply to 15,000 metric tons, connected farmers to markets, and promoted agroforestry practices like planting shea nut trees. The result? Improved incomes, stronger climate resilience, and opportunities for thousands of farmers in northern Ghana.
