From Gabe Rice, the proud new owner of a Stephens bass trombone...

"This instrument is so easy to play it almost practices itself...but it's so much fun to play I don't want to put it down! Steve has pulled off the seemingly impossible: the valves feel the same in every combination, the transitions are smooth and transparent, and they're open without hogging air. At the same time, the entire range of the instrument is so easy and efficient that my colleagues noticed more ring in the upper register immediately. I can play longer phrases, faster and smoother slurs, and a wider range of dynamics, colors, and articulations. I couldn't be happier!"

Congratulations to Finn Tondro, the latest addition to the Stephens family! Proud owner of our Series 1 #35, he's going to rattle the walls of Sanders Theatre this weekend playing Mahler 3 with The Harvard-Radcliffe Orchestra. Break a leg, Finn - we're happy for you!!

In spite of my best intentions, I won’t be attending the International Trombone Festival this year, but two of my new trombones will be available to try at The Brass Ark booth. As a one-man operation, my first commitment is to those who’ve been waiting patiently for their Stephens trombone, and preparing for the ITF and being away from the shop would cause them to wait longer. I look forward to seeing all of you at the next show, and you can always send me your questions at [email protected]

I’m in the process of forgetting to mow the lawn. 😀
