We’re proud of CHS alumna Dr. Molly Pierson and grateful for her dedication to serving our community.

✨Meet Dr. Molly Pierson, DMD!✨

Dr. Molly Pierson, a dedicated and passionate dentist, is a native of Calhoun, Georgia. Graduating as a top 5 honor student from Calhoun High School, she went on to excel academically at the University of Georgia, where she graduated Cum Laude while also showcasing her talents as a majorette in the renowned Redcoat Band, proudly cheering for the Bulldogs – Go Dawgs! With a strong commitment to her community, Dr. Pierson pursued her dream of becoming a dentist at the Dental College of Georgia, earning her degree in Doctor of Dental Medicine in 2024. Her journey has been marked by a deep-rooted love for her hometown and a desire to give back to the place that shaped her.

Beyond dentistry, Dr. Pierson finds joy in various hobbies such as roller skating, rock climbing, and getting lost in a great book. However, her true happiness lies in spending quality time with her cherished family and friends.

Armed with a wealth of knowledge and a genuine passion for oral health, Dr. Molly Pierson is eager to make a positive impact in the field of dentistry and contribute meaningfully to her community in Calhoun, Georgia.

Summer Meals Begin Next Monday, June 1!

Our dedicated School Nutrition team is proud to once again offer free summer meals for children throughout our community. Meals will be available Monday–Friday from 11:00 AM–1:00 PM at multiple locations across Calhoun, including CCS school sites, community partners, and neighborhood stops.🚍🍎

📦 7-Day Meal Boxes Available on June 26 and July 23 from 12:00–3:00 PM
📍CPES Complex (rear parking lot)

Reading, learning, and summer fun! 📚☀️

Yesterday, our Jacket Jamboree campers helped kick off United Way of Gordon County's new summer program, United We Read, a literacy initiative that brings books, resources, and engaging learning experiences to families.

Campers enjoyed ice cream, story time, hands-on activities, a fire truck tour, and even selected a book to take home, along with other fun treats to keep the learning going all summer long.

Thank you to United Way and community partners for introducing this new program and supporting literacy throughout the summer!

Congratulations to Calhoun Elementary School’s 5th Grade Odyssey of the Mind team on an incredible 4th Place finish at the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals at Iowa State University! 🌎🐝

After advancing through a highly competitive process, these young problem-solvers represented Calhoun on the world stage with creativity, collaboration, perseverance, and excellence. We're so proud of their accomplishments and claiming a spot among the top in the world!

Jacket Jamboree kicks off on Tuesday, May 26, and we can’t wait to welcome our campers! From rising kindergarteners to rising 6th graders, get ready for an amazing summer of fun, friends, and activities.

📍 Where: CES Gym (101 Raymond King Dr.)
⏰ Hours: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM
💰 Cost: $25 per day (Due by check-in)

🚨 Friendly reminder for pool days: Due to construction at the Rec Department, we will be swimming at the Calhoun Aquatic Center on Mondays & Wednesdays for rising 4th–6th graders only this summer (swim tests required!).

📝 Ready to secure your spot? A new registration is required for the 26-27 school year cycle. Register online before your child's first day!
