Montana Tech SME Student Chapter

Thanks to Cementation for the presentation on sinking shafts. Cementation start in 1910 to change the way mine contracting is done within the industry. There goal is "To earn the distinction of being the mining contractor of choice of both Clients and Employees through excellence in safety, performance beyond all expectations, and building of long term relationships based on a best for project philosophy." They covered methods of sinking shafts, case studies on some of the shafts they sink, challenges of sinking shafts, and the construction of the Galloways. https://en.cementation.com/site/index.php

We play a mean game of trivia. Thanks to David, Joyce, Katya, and Zach. They won second place in one round out of 4 rounds. There was about 25 teams at trivia.

Had a great night at homecoming bowling. Thanks to David O., David W., Nick and Raven.
