Not every grandma is built like Linda 💪
Linda showed up and put in the work today, joined by her daughter and granddaughters who are in town visiting—turning a regular workout into something really special. 3 generations training together, and it’s about so much more than just exercise.
As we age, staying active is key to maintaining strength, balance, and independence—and Linda is proof that consistency pays off. Even more powerful is the example she’s setting for the next two generations watching and learning.
A true role model, setting the standard for her family.

Bode is a 12-year-old athlete who has been training with us since October. He represents Northgate Aquatics Club and competed at the 2026 Allegheny Mountain Swimming (AMS) Silver Championships, where he delivered an outstanding performance.
Bode won the 11–12 age group 50 butterfly with a time of 30.56, achieving a 1.87-second improvement and qualifying for the Age Group Championships. He also earned a silver medal in the 200 freestyle with a 2.69-second drop and lowered his time by 10.01 seconds in the 500 freestyle. In addition, he recorded time improvements in the 200 individual medley, 50 freestyle, and 100 freestyle.
Congratulations Bode!
Prepping for the season goes far beyond time on the ice ❄️
Our figure skaters are training smart off the ice with eccentric and isometric full-body work to build strength that truly transfers.
Eccentric training focuses on the slow, controlled lengthening of a muscle—think lowering into a squat or controlling the landing phase of a jump. This improves strength, power absorption, and durability.
Isometric training is all about holding tension without movement—pauses, holds, and positions that build joint stability, control, and body awareness.
By varying and increasing time under tension, we challenge muscles in different ways, strengthen connective tissue, and prepare skaters for the demands of jumps, spins, and long programs.
More control. More resilience. More confidence heading into the season ⛸️💪

Nothing embraces our mantra better than athletes coming in when times have gotten tough.
The comeback isn’t easy, but it’s happening.
Just 5.5 weeks post-op and is back in the gym.
We are proud of you! Keep going Wills!

😴 Wellness Wednesday: Prioritizing Sleep
Sleep is one of the most powerful performance tools an athlete has. Quality sleep drives adaptation, supports recovery, and prepares the body and brain for high-intensity work🧠. During deep and REM sleep, the body repairs muscle tissue, reinforces motor patterns learned in training, regulates hormones, and restores the nervous system. Inadequate sleep can reduce reaction time, lower power output, increase injury risk, and compromise decision-making on the ice. For athletes, proper sleep is essential for growth, learning, and long-term development.
Sleep Supports Athlete Performance:
• Enhances reaction time, focus, and decision-making
• Improves strength, speed, and power output
• Aids muscle repair and reduces injury risk
• Regulates hormones tied to energy and recovery
• Reinforces skill acquisition and motor learning
• Supports immune health and overall well-being
Prioritize sleep the same way you prioritize training—your performance depends on it. 😴🕒
