From our vacation to Alaska. Alaska has some of the best scenery I've ever seen. I only wish we had even more time than 2 weeks to see all there is to see. The whale watching was the best and we even got to see a rare bubble net feeding! Sadly Judy McCreary, we were unable to see Mount McKinley at Denali because of the low clouds, but that just means we will just have to make another trip back in the future 🙂 The fall color in Denali couldn't have been any better though! A must state to see for sure! Thanks so much to Nancy Meyer for helping us plan this awesome trip! Northgate Mall – Yet another area mall sadly coming to an end. The mall first opened in 1972, was sold earlier this month, and the last two remaining tenants are expected to be out by the middle of September. So, if you want to take a walk down memory lane, you still have a few weeks left to do it.

Got out this morning to grab one more new waterfall before the dry spell hits. Newberry Wildlife Sanctuary in Colerain Twp is one of the rarely visited Great Parks of Hamilton County. It’s not frequently visited because there’s no parking and no trails. Such a nice and peaceful place to explore. The side falls I included in this post was from late winter 2022, after heavy rain.

Germantown Falls

After getting 2.5" of rain overnight in Germantown, I thought I would try to get a full picture of the lower falls. But remarkably, after many, many years of not being able to photograph the main upper falls because of two very large trees that had fallen across the area, the heavy rain last night moved the trees down toward the middle falls.

I've literally been wanting to get a picture of the upper falls for years for the book, and finally, nature did its thing and gave me the opportunity.

I was able to get out a few days with all the rain we got last week to add 10 new waterfalls and revisited a few as well. Love these summer rains!

Visited Germantown Five Rivers MetroParks this morning to do some hiking, and I was able to add another new waterfall. I think though I will be back sometime in the spring when the flow is better. Beautiful park to visit if you haven't been!

Thanks to Zachary at Butler County MetroParks and the Butler County Veterans Service Commission for a great walk at Sebald MetroPark, as part of their Operation Fresh Air program. It was a great night with a great group of people! For more information and future events: https://www.yourmetroparks.net/

From my walk this morning at Hueston Woods State Park | Little Four Mile Creek Falls. This one is accessed from the Indian Mound Trail in the campground area. I was really hoping for some more water with the amount they received last night, but still a little more than the last time I visited.

Ohio waterfalls - #199 & 200. A couple of small waterfalls I got yesterday in Indian Hill, after the flash floods the area received the day before. Walton Creek Falls and Sycamore Creek Falls. Love photographing the smaller waterfalls 🙂
