βοΈ Why Re**er Matters
Every time you grab fresh produce, a cold drink, or medicine that actually works β a re**er truck made it possible. Temperature-controlled freight is one of the most demanding jobs in trucking. There's no "close enough." It's the right temp, the whole way, every mile.
That's the standard our family built EMKO Inc. on. We don't just move freight. We protect it. π
From our trucks to your table β fresh, cold, on time.

π‘οΈ Re**er Pro Tip: Pre-cool before you load.
Summer heat is here, and a warm trailer is the #1 enemy of fresh freight. Always pre-cool your re**er to the set temperature BEFORE loading β never use the unit to cool down warm product. It can't, and your load pays the price.
Quick summer checklist:
β
Pre-cool the box
β
Check fuel level on the re**er unit
β
Verify the temp setpoint matches the BOL
β
Keep your temp logs clean
Small habits, big difference. That's how we protect every EMKO load. πβοΈ

πβοΈ Re**er Market Update β June 2026
Cold-chain demand is heating up fast. Refrigerated freight just posted one of its largest weekly rate increases on record, with re**er rates running around $3.12/mile as produce season peaks and capacity tightens nationwide.
What it means:
πΉ Fresh freight is moving in volume
πΉ Re**er capacity is tight = stronger rates
πΉ Shippers need partners who deliver cold, fresh, and on time
At EMKO Inc., temperature-controlled freight isn't a side service β it's what our family built its name on. When the market moves, we keep your cargo cold and your loads rolling.

World Cup 2026: What It Means for Trucking β½π
The World Cup isn't just a sports event. It's a temporary supply chain explosion.
NY/NJ officials alone project:
β’ 1.2M+ visitors
β’ $1.7B in direct spending
β’ 26,000+ jobs supported
β’ 8 matches, including the Final
But this is bigger than New York. The 2026 World Cup is spread across North America β and demand will surge across NY/NJ, Philadelphia, Boston, Miami, Atlanta, DC/Baltimore, Charlotte, ports, and regional warehouse networks.
Somebody has to move it all:
β’ food & beverages π§
β’ merchandise & retail inventory
β’ hospitality equipment
β’ staging & temporary infrastructure
β’ vendor supplies
β’ nonstop last-mile deliveries
And when it comes to perishables, freshness can't wait β that's where re**er freight becomes mission-critical.
The companies that position early around warehousing, cross-docking, drayage, and time-sensitive metro delivery will quietly win big.
Big events don't just move people. They move loads.
At EMKO INC, we keep them moving β cold, fresh, and on time. βοΈ

He had $1,000, a phone, and zero patience for bad freight brokers. π¦
In 1997, Ken Oaks was a 31-year-old produce salesman in Cincinnati. He'd watched freight brokers fail shippers over and over β slow callbacks, broken promises, no urgency. He knew he could do it better.
So he leveraged everything he had and opened Total Quality Logistics out of a tiny office. No big investors. No safety net. Just a phone, a fax machine, and an endless list of cold calls.
The grind was brutal, 14-hour days, 7 days a week, matching shippers who needed freight moved with truckers who had empty trailers. His obsession? Speed, trust, and relationships. If a client needed a truck at 2 AM, TQL found one.
The formula worked.
From that tiny office, TQL became one of the largest freight brokerages in America β 9,000+ employees, 160,000+ carrier relationships, and billions in freight moved every year. Today Ken Oaks is the wealthiest person in Cincinnati, worth close to $1 billion.
Every empire in this industry starts the same way: one person who refuses to do it the lazy way. That's the standard we hold ourselves to at EMKO. π

Three stories that moved trucking last week π
π FMCSA's new Motus registration system went live May 19. Biometric ID checks, facial scans, and one dashboard. Fraud carriers, your days are numbered.
π Spot rates jumped during Roadcheck week as capacity tightened. DAT load posts climbed 29% in a single week as brokers scrambled to cover freight before inspections pulled trucks off the road.
πΈ ATRI's new report: truck crashes are down, but insurance premiums keep climbing. Litigation and nuclear verdicts, not safety, are driving the bill.
We track the rules, the rates and the road, so you can stay focused on the miles.
π Drive with a team that has your back. $1,700/week or $0.65/mile Β· No-touch freight Β· Weekly direct deposit Β· Brand-new trucks Β· 24/7 dispatch & maintenance.

Today, we pause.
For every soldier who never came home.
For every family whose chair stays empty.
For every name carved in stone.
The freedom to run these roads was paid for by those who never got to drive them again.
We remember. πΊπΈ

A sharecropper's son who quit school in the 7th grade built one of the biggest trucking empires in America. π£οΈ
Johnnie Bryan Hunt didn't have money. He didn't have schooling. He didn't even have trucking experience when he started. What he had was grit, a wife who believed in him, and the courage to bet everything on five used trucks in 1969.
Today J.B. Hunt runs over 20,000 trucks and pulls in $12 billion a year.
Every legend starts with one truck.
