I was honored to nominate Major Alonzo “Al” Chisholm, USAF Ret., at yesterday's Military Appreciation Day at the State House in recognition of his service to our country and continued dedication to veterans and our community.

A Vietnam Era and Desert Storm Veteran, Major Chisholm served veterans and families as Protenant Chaplain at the Bedford VA Hospital, continues his ministry as Senior Pastor at First Baptist Church in Waltham, and remains an active leader in several veterans' organizations throughout Massachusetts.

Congratulations, Major Chisholm, USAF Ret., and thank you for a lifetime of service and leadership!

I'm proud of Abigail Cutrona of Bedford High School, Sophia Gallant of Shawsheen Valley Technical High School, and Josh Leavitt of Burlington High School for being civically engaged through their participation in this year’s Student Government Day at the State House. Experiences like this teach students about leadership, public service, and making their voices heard. Thank you for representing our community so well!

Great night honoring and celebrating three new Eagle Scouts from Burlington’s Troop 103! I appreciated the opportunity to stop by the troop meeting to honor these scouts before the Court of Honor early next month. Congratulations to Giovanni Doiron, Mehran Khaleel, and Christopher Peckham on earning this impressive achievement. Thank you to Scout Troop 103 for including me in this special celebration!

Exciting news! Burlington begins construction at Fox Hill Elementary School. Many years of hard work from the Superintendent, School Committee, and Building Committee went into making this project a reality!

This week, I joined my colleagues in the House of Representatives to pass the FY27 House Budget proposal. This budget delivers important investments for Bedford, Burlington, and communities across the Commonwealth. Thank you to Speaker Ron Mariano and House Ways and Means Chair Aaron Michlewitz.

Great news for METCO! House Ways and Means budget released yesterday includes $35 million for the METCO program, as requested. Fully meeting its ask. It was fun to share this news with the Bedford High School students this morning. And I appreciate that METCO recognized me among its vocal supporters with this recognition at their recent State House visit.
