You are not back at zero just because you stopped.
Maybe you quit.
Maybe you fell short.
Maybe something you worked hard for did not end the way you wanted.
That does not erase the work you already did.
Katy Duncan talks about how the experience, the knowledge, and even the moment you stopped can become part of what gets you further the next time.
You are not starting over.
You are starting with more than you had before.
What did your last attempt teach you?

Dictate your own outcome. Conquer all things.
Some progress will not look impressive.
It will look slower than you wanted.
Harder than you expected.
Like you should be further along by now.
Katy Duncan talks about “free miles” in ultrarunning: the distance you cover during the hardest part still moves you forward.
That idea applies far beyond a race.
When life gets dark, give yourself some grace.
Keep moving however you can.
It may not feel like much.
It still counts.
What progress are you overlooking because it does not look the way you expected?

You can quit once and still come back differently the next time.
Katy Duncan stopped during her second 100-mile race.
Afterward, she knew she could have kept going.
That stayed with her.
So when she reached that same wall again, she made a different decision.
Not this time.
Sometimes falling short is not the end of the story.
Sometimes it shows you exactly what you need when you get another chance.
One decision does not have to define the next one.
What are you ready to try again?

Dictate your own outcome. Conquer all things.
A big goal can feel impossible when you keep looking at the whole thing at once.
Katy Duncan runs 100-mile ultramarathons.
She does not spend the entire race thinking about all 100 miles.
She focuses on the next aid station.
The next five miles.
The next marker she can actually reach.
Then she gets there and finds the next one.
That is how something overwhelming starts to become manageable.
Whatever you are working toward right now, stop staring at the finish.
What is your next marker?
Get there first.
Then find the next one.

What do you do when everything in you is telling you to stop?
Katy Duncan runs 100-mile ultramarathons.
She knows the low points are coming.
The part where your body is exhausted.
The finish feels impossibly far away.
And your mind starts asking why you are still doing this.
In those moments, you do not need the whole answer.
You need the next step.
That is true in a race.
And it is true in life.
Can you take one more step?

What keeps you accountable when motivation is gone?
It might be an alarm.
A reminder.
A calendar.
A notebook.
A journal.
It does not need to be complicated.
It just needs to keep the goal in front of you and help you follow through when the day gets busy.
Josh calls that the secret sauce.
Find the thing that keeps you accountable.
Then keep using it.
What works for you?

If you’re used to doing everything yourself, needing help can hit hard.
After surgery, Jordan Shipp had to rely on his fiancée for things he normally would have handled on his own.
That was uncomfortable.
It was humbling.
But it also taught him something.
Sometimes strength is not proving you can handle everything by yourself.
Sometimes strength is letting someone help you while you rebuild.
This part is temporary.
What you learn from it can stay with you.
