💔 RIP Holley 750🪦💔
We interrupt our normal programming to bring you some important news . About a few days maybe a week into my journey across the country I was paused.
It all started when we got lost . 100miles off course and Cassandra and I slept behind a gas station somewhere in New Mexico almost in Texas. That morning as we left and passed the cemetery Cassandra wanted to sleep at, I looked and thought what a beautiful cemetery. Maybe we should have slept here. Cassandra was maybe 100 yards ahead of me. Out of no where a dog ran in-front of my bike. I almost hit the little fu**er . Like scared the s**t outta me. I looked back and that dog was in the middle of the street chasing me Barking at me my body wanted to stop and pet the little guy but as I kept moving She disappeared into a bush back towards the cemetery.
Hrs later in our journey into Texas Cassandra’s motorcycle made a horrible sound and just stopped while I was riding it. I was like ugh ohh that’s sounded bad. As we started assessing the situation, Cassandra’s phone rang. We received the news at that moment that our dog Holley had passed away.

I tell this story because of what it suggests to me. Holley’s spirit ran in-front of me in the am when she passed. My bike broke when she was found.

My son Chase at 18 years old dealt with taking Holley to be cremated. A young man becoming a man bearing his childhood man’s best friend.

The entire ride for me was a distraction yet Holley was always there in my helmet between gas stops as I cried because I was not home . Because I didn’t give her a bath before I split.

Returning home to an empty house was by far the most difficult thing I’ve done in awhile.

Rip 🪦 Holley 750. Love you miss you and thanks for keeping my son company when he was afraid of the dark. And thanks for keeping me company when I was alone . Always there for me. Even helping raise the kids. The chickens the bunnies and all the horse walks we took. All the choppers we built and race cars we test drove.

Had some beautiful riding through this stretch, couple bikes with intake leaks, detoured to fix bikes at who was kind enough to open his shop on a Sunday for us AND let us camp out in his beautiful yard, Cass finagled some beer from the back of a truck as we were in a dry county on a Sunday, and now we’re on our way to Missouri.

New Mexico to Texas! Run to the one continues cross the USA. Landed at house and excited to ride out to Louisiana tomorrow

Kinda rough gettin out of town but decided to rest a night in Vegas which was a really good call. We had some good food, some much needed fun and got Kendals bike halfway fixed in the hotel room.
