KCET
KCET is part of a powerful PBS flagship organization known as the Public Media Group of Southern Cal
KCET/Community Television of Southern California signed on at 11:15 am on September 28, 1964 as an affiliate of National Educational Television, which would later become the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS). Assigned to Channel 28 on the Ultra High Frequency (UHF) spectrum, from the very beginning KCET sought to live up to the promise of its call letters, which offered a new standard for Community Educational Television.
