“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.”

There certainly comes a time to put your foot down with someone. To say the tough thing and to draw a line in the sand.

But as a general practice, wise and mature people are known for being generous with giving grace. They routinely give the benefit of a doubt. They tend to assume, “Perhaps I don’t have all the info.” “Perhaps I’m not seeing this from an all-knowing perspective.” Others are attracted to such people.

Conversely, immature people tend to be graceless. They routinely assume the worst. They repel the people they meet, and they tend to wear out the ones who can’t help but stick around.

When Mary was filled with the Spirit and conceived the Son of God, her body became the inner court of the Holy of Holies. Never before had a woman entered this sacred space, but in the incarnation, the Holy of Holies came into her space.

The incarnation paved the way for Eve's daughters to enter as priests into the sacred zone of the Triune life. In Mary's priestly body, she carried the Great High Priest and the Lamb of God.

Our culture is sick with us/them hate. It cannot find healing until it chooses another
trajectory. The Jesus of the gospels has some ideas worth trying. Until then, prayers for another hurting family.
