Dan is busy removing several big oak trees that have unfortunately died from oak wilt. Here he is using what we call the "backlash method," where he lifts the grapple up on the backside of the direction he wants the tree to fall and then uses a chainsaw to make a cut at the base of the tree. He doesn't chainsaw all the way through so that when he pushes the tree, the part of the tree left uncut almost guides the tree to fall in the way he wants.

The machine is a bit muddy but is still ready for the work week! Dan has the auger loaded up to dig some postholes with the CAT 259 track loader today. Let us know if you need help with any post hole digging! Here in the rocky hill country, augers sure beat digging post holes by hand

Dan is headed out for another day at work! He is working on a lot in Fair Oaks Ranch today that is super thick with cedar and is full of rock. He will have a lot of chain saw work today but we are grateful for the gorgeous weather! Give us a call for any of your land clearing or site work needs!
