A little I know about High Priest, Liberator, and Entrepreneur Amb Garang Deng Aguer

Why simple call for citizens of Aweil to remain calm, united and tranquil made High Priest Amb Garang Deng Aguer to become an enemy of few bad apples who were lately shedding tears for breast milk? Having said that, citizens of Aweil are civilized to figure things out for themselves.

In this piece of writing, I want to make sure that we know this. Aweil is well connected today with bridges and many areas are now accessible to one another via roads network due to Amb Garang Deng Aguer efforts with former Minister of Finance Hon Arthur Akuein Chol; much love for them.

While Hon Minister Aleu Ayeiny Aleu was so occupied inciting sectional violence in his own backyard, Amb Garangdit was thinking ahead to help citizens of Upright land, Aweil prosper. In fact, High Priest Amb Garangdit managed to lobby the by then Sudan National government to help out citizens of Aweil attained projects that were meant to make the so called unity attractive.

Likewise, at the echelon of entrepreneurialism, Amb Garang was the first Southern Sudanese entrepreneur who joined global elites’ club of wealth in the early years of his entrepreneurial career. Here, I want those kids who’re born out of wedlock in suburbs of Khartoum to know this.

When Amb Garang was living in opulent Khartoum’s Skyscrapers or High-rise buildings, many of today’s Rek millionaires were Chefs of cow’s trotters ( culinary term for the foot of cattle). Now, they have money, but they don’t know what to do with them. The only thing that comes to their little brains is to marry hundreds of wives. Now, trotters chefs wanted to fake their financial history.

In fact Amb Garang Deng Aguer, unlike those wealthiest Rek elites who became rich overnight and perhaps powerful due to their familial or clannish links, Amb Garang Deng Aguer is an exceptional and an exemplary entrepreneur who built his own unique empire of its kind. Here’s our legendary business empire story.

From 1970s to 1980s, Amb Garangdit became a first Sudanese Sale Agent of Peugeot car company, Germany brand. Despite high competition with monopolists rich Northern traders at the time, Amb Garangdit still won the trust of Peugeot cars maker. This is where he managed to join the global elites’ club of wealth; the highest global financial ladder.

At this point, we can say that Amb Garang’s fortune has nothing to do with ongoing Rek elites wild looting of oil money, gold & custom tax. But, he is truly a genius of his own hard work. The journey of global bonds & building of his own economic empire started here.

Having clarified who’s who in this arena of global business, where competitive reigns over familial links, I can baldly say that Amb Garang Deng Aguer is a genius of our time who built his own business empire due to his marketing skills, hard work, discipline, and resilience.

At the echelon of 21yrs liberation struggle, I believed that some are valour on frontlines; while others are financially courageous. Amb Garang Deng Aguer is one of those few South Sudanese elites who can do what is best for his country.

When SPLA freedom fighters, stationed in Bahr el Ghazal region, faced dire uniform shortages in early 90s, Amb Garang Deng Aguer helped out with buying of black garments attires. He had never hesitated to rescue the situation.

With no time wasted, Ambassador of goodwill took immediate action on the request of our Late Hero Dr John Garang. He purchased these military uniforms using his own money for our troops. This kindness was recognized and appreciated by the top echelons of the SPLA/M leadership at the time.

Despite this revolutionary records of kindness, we still have bad apples who want to reinvent their own history apart from what is known to all top SPLA military leaders. I don’t blame these bellied kids because they know nothing about history of 21 yrs liberation struggle.

Now, I understood why many South Sudanese who were in power don’t bothered themselves to do something good for their constituents; grassroots. The problem, we don’t appreciate sacrifices of those who helped us during times of our needs.

But, saying thank you is a positive and motivational words. It inspired other kind hearted people to continue helping those in need. Thank you High Priest, Freedom fighter and Entrepreneur for inspiring many around you. Again, the civilized citizens of Aweil support your call for calm.

At the echelons of spirituality, some people dedicate their lives for God’s salvation mission; others are pioneers of business front that shaped today’s technological innovation; some are far down engaged in politics. This is the complex world of modern society.

Every-time I watched High Priest Amb Garang Deng Aguer talking in boldness or without fear of repercussions, it reminded me about Liberation Theology, a Christian doctrine that interprets the gospel of Jesus Christ through perspective of the poor and oppressed citizens of the world.

In fact, Liberation Theology emphasizes God’s desire to free people from economic, social, and political injustice. All the time, God uses ordinary people like Amb Garangdit as instruments to accomplish His divine purposes in the world.

Lastly but not least, back again, why some of Rek’s elites so scared now of a simple word unity? Well, we felt where it hurts them; and we understand their worries. Telling the truth always exposes uncomfortable parts, disrupts their plans & threatened their power.

True, many failed regimes depends on dividing and isolating citizens from one another. They don’t want citizens to voice out their concerns. Yes, nothing worse than regime fear of truth. But, history favours those who stand for truth.

Thank you High Priest Amb Garang Deng Aguer for putting your fingerprints in the realm of spirituality, political activism and business entrepreneurship.

Much love from me;

What is the connection between Aweil community statement made by Amb. Deng Aguer and President Kiir visit to Mading Aweil? Was there a plan for President to visit Mading Aweil? Is President going to Mading Aweil for campaign rally? Is Vice President Hussain, John the Baptist for President Salva Kiir? Who is supposed to prepare the way for President visit? Is it Vice President or governor? Has the vice president Hussain join the SPLM party secretly?

These and many other questions will be discussed at Timcok on Saturday June 6, 2026
