The Legend of the Raven

They say the Raven was once a white bird, soaring high in the sky, until the Creator called upon it to bring light to the world. The Raven, full of mischief and cleverness, carried the sun in its beak and flew across the heavens. In its journey, the Raven dropped the sun, scattering light across the earth and turning itself black as it absorbed the power of the light.

The Raven became a symbol of transformation, wisdom, and mystery. It teaches the people that even in darkness, there is light, and that through cleverness and courage, one can bring change to the world.

The Raven’s spirit reminds us to embrace change and use our wit to navigate life’s challenges.

The Raven teaches us that from darkness comes light, and with wisdom, we can create transformation. Share this wisdom and let it guide you through the challenges ahead.

🦢 The crane does not fear the sky. It spreads its wings and soars with grace, embracing the wind.
Lesson: Embrace your freedom and trust that you have the strength to rise above.

Great, great aunt Cecelia Totus, Yakama beadwork extraordinaire with just some of her work. 👌🏽👍🏾 Bead on folks! Her and her husband Bert Totus were survivors of the Fort Simcoe Indian boarding school at the same time when they were kids.

"Amber Midthunder (born April 26, 1997) is an American actress. She is known for her regular roles in the FX series Legion and The CW series Roswell, New Mexico, as well as appearances on Longmire, Banshee, and Reservation Dogs. She starred as Naru in Prey, the fifth installment and first prequel of the Predator franchise.
Midthunder's mother Angelique, who is originally from Thailand and of Thai-Chinese ancestry, is a casting director and stunt performer, and her father David is an actor of Native American Assiniboine descent; Angelique and David met while working on the 1995 Japanese film East Meets West.
Midthunder is a citizen of the Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux Tribe. She was born on the Navajo Nation in Shiprock, New Mexico, and eventually returned there after spending much of her childhood in Santa Fe where she attended the Academy for Technology and the Classics and where her mother worked in a casting firm.
Midthunder developed an interest in acting as a child, where she would memorize and recite lines from her favorite shows, but disliked her first experience in the job, leading her to take some time before another performance, even considering a career in make-up, where she worked as an intern, or mixed martial arts, having trained and taught Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Her first credit was in 2008's Sunshine Cleaning. Midthunder proceeded to work in various productions filmed in New Mexico, before moving to Los Angeles at the age of 17 to pursue more acting opportunities. She starred as Naru in Prey, the fifth installment of the Predator franchise. She was widely praised for her performance.
In 2022, Midthunder received the Breakthrough Performance Award as part of the Saturn Awards and a Critics' Choice Awards nomination for Best Actress in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television."

Good words
History is not there for you to like or dislike. it is there for you to learn from it. And if it offends you, even better. Because then you are less likely to repeat it. It's not yours to erase. It belongs to all of us.

These four Chiefs were Chief Joseph, Sitting Bull, Geronimo and Red Cloud. Each of these forefathers played an important role in shaping their tribe's customs and history. Because of their influence over the shaping of Native American history, they are often referred to as the real founding fathers.!

Native American sign language: Illustrated guides to 400 gestures
The illustrations below showing how to communicate using Native American/”Indian” sign language, come from two vintage sources — one in the ’50s, and the other (more comprehensive guide) from the ’20s.
Indian sign language (1954)
From The Golden Digest, Issue 1 (1954)
Once we had many Indian tribes in our country. They did not all speak the same language. But with sign language, one tribe could understand another. Here are some things they would say. Words shown: Sunset, yes, I/me/my, go/go away, horse/horse rider, buffalo, man, rising sun, tipi, you, night
