Playing games with our closest ally and the American people's wallets is a dereliction of duty that hurts all of us. Donald Trump has done nothing to give the American people financial stability and his reckless policies and constant uncertainty are making it harder for families to plan, save, and afford the everyday costs of living.

It is far past time that Congressional Republicans step up and put the American people ahead of partisan loyalty.

New York lost more than $7.5 billion a year in federal health funding and 450,000 of our neighbors lost their Essential Plan coverage. UB graduate students doing lifesaving research are among them.

Children with disabilities are losing Medicaid. Working families are losing coverage they have counted on for years. The most devastating cuts won’t take effect until next year. That means there is still time for Congress to act.

Every Western New Yorker deserves healthcare, regardless of zip code. We need to cancel these cuts.

106 years ago today, the 19th Amendment was ratified, guaranteeing American women the right to vote after generations of suffragists marched, organized, and were jailed to make it happen.

That fight didn't end in 1920, and it isn't finished today. I'll keep working to protect and expand voting rights for every woman and every American, because our democracy is only as strong as our commitment to the ballot box.

Just as we warned - another Trump loyalist who is committed to acting on behalf of the President and refusing to work for the American people. The American people deserve public servants who put the country’s interests first, not political loyalty to one man.

When House Democrats take back the gavels, there will be no more running away from accountability and the American people will learn exactly who is working for them and who is working for Donald Trump.

Our region has become far too familiar with the consequences of failing to address the environmental and health impact that contamination can have on families.

We cannot afford to make the same mistakes of the past, and I will not allow any agency to act without urgency when the health and safety of Western New York families are at stake.

I will continue to push for answers and immediate action on relocation for any family that is being impacted, and we will be with them every step of the way.

91 years ago today, Franklin Roosevelt signed Social Security into law, setting into motion a promise that if you work hard your whole life, you won’t spend your golden years in poverty. That promise has never been more at risk. Right now, the Trust Fund is projected to run dry by 2032, a year sooner than last estimated, made worse by the cuts in Trump’s Big, Ugly Bill.

Without action, every senior in this country faces a 22% cut to the benefits they’ve earned. I will never stop fighting to protect Social Security for the people of Western New York and for every American who has paid into this promise their entire lives.

Another win for Buffalo thanks to the Western New Yorkers that are committed to preserving our region’s rich history.
