💔heartbroken to no longer have the chance to chalk in Marietta this weekend but grateful to be home and safe with my family. Thank you to the incredible team from the Marietta Cobb Museum of Art for your tireless work to try to make this event happen. Months of planning and coordination for professional artists, student artists, vendors, sponsors… there is so much behind the scenes that goes into an event like this. Stay safe. Looking ahead to 2027.
This is not the announcement we wanted to make. 💔
Due to the severe weather forecast for this weekend, we have made the difficult decision to cancel Chalktoberfest 2026, including the Craft B**r Festival and Community Chalk Competition, scheduled for October 10–11.
In the history of Chalktoberfest, we have never faced a weather forecast severe enough to require this decision. With the potential for flooding rains, high winds, and dangerous conditions, the safety of our artists, guests, volunteers, vendors, and staff must come first.
We know how disappointing this is. More than 80 artists from across the country and around the world have spent months preparing. Our volunteers, sponsors, partners, vendors, and community have worked tirelessly to make this weekend possible, and thousands of you were preparing to join us on Marietta Square. We are heartbroken that we won’t get to experience it together this year.
We will be reaching out directly to affected participants and ticket holders with additional information. Please continue to follow our social channels and website for updates.
To every artist, volunteer, sponsor, partner, vendor, and member of our community who helped bring Chalktoberfest this far: thank you.
We hope you’ll join us when the chalk returns in 2027. ❤️🎨
One more week! Can’t wait!

We are looking for our next "canvas." Our Mural Club students will once again be offered the opportunity to create in their communities over the school year. This time we have a specific surface in mind. Doors! Please email Miss Jess at [email protected] if you have interest in having a door designed and painted.
This student lead community beautification project is made possible by the With Youth, For Youth Grant funded by the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation and Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo.
This project was so special to be part of from start to finish. Right away we were spoiled, getting to work so many summer nights along the Wilson Pier and enjoy those stunning, infamous sunsets which inspired our color palette for this project. To kick this project off our group of students piled around a picnic table for a brainstorming session where the students dreamt up what imagery they'd like to see on this wall. They worked together to decided which ideas we kept and which we scrapped. From there I watched them each dive right in to learn new skills, refine current skills and take ownership of their respective areas. I got to see them push through apprehension to discover new abilities. It was a gift to see them grow in confidence, creativity and teamwork. This group of kids is remarkably talented, hardworking, clever and fun! To the parents of these kids - you've got some awesome kids!
On a personal note, this was a fun one for me because I was able to bring my niece into this student team mix for her first mural. I loved getting to work along side her this summer! If you see a cute painted seagull or two along the Wilson Harbor Pier or the Village Pier, then you've seen a glimpse of her handiwork! :)
Jess Tomaino thank you again for bringing me on board for this one. It was an honor as always!

The making of Dorothy:
-Friday afternoon I got my space prepped and image transferred. No issues except for an incoming thunderstorm
- Saturday morning plot twist. So. Much. Rain.
- lunchtime Saturday we made the call to abandon the original piece, move to a new spot and start over
- new space, dry ground, full sun and heat but good progress
- evening hit, the shade was a welcome break
- the rest of the crew joined up for a group pic at my spot as I finished up. Talented bunch of artists here.
- the finished piece 💛
Despite the weather, we had a steady stream of visitors all afternoon and had a great albeit brief day of chalking.
Next up: Chalktoberfest in Marietta, GA October 10-11!

Loved chalking at the Chamblee Chalk Walk today! The weather was not on our side last night or this morning but we made the most of the time we had this afternoon and early evening! Thanks Zach Herndon, Jessi Queen, Georgia Chalk Artists Guild and Chamblee City Staff for having me and for the privilege of getting to hang out with you all this weekend.

Always a privilege to team up with Jess Tomaino for some projects with WAHI Studio.
This is just one of several irons we had in the fire in August. The artwork is inspired by a book written by Jody Chesko and illustrated by Diana Mathena.
And this space turned out so cute! I wish I space like this was available when my kids were small. If you’re in the Lockport community and you’ve got little ones, definitely pop in and check this place out.

Hey-ey-ey-ey! Wegmans on McKinley Rd. rolled out the red carpet this week to welcome nationwide managers to their store in true Buffalo fashion, and I’m excited to share the small part I could play in helping their vision come to life.
