This Sunday's sermon will begin a series on worship. Some of this article might show up in the message.

The Regulative Principle of Worship | Tabletalk What is the regulative principle of worship? Put simply, the regulative principle states that nothing ought to be introduced into gathered worship unless there is a specific warrant of Scripture.

We will be having Sunday worship at 11:00 a.m. We will enjoy singing some Christmas hymns, and the sermon will be entitled, "The Staggering Claim of Christmas."

"It is not that theological beliefs are denied, but that they have little cash value. They don’t matter. I likened the situation to that of a child who is in a home but who is ignored. It is not that the child has been abducted; the child is there. The child is in the home, but has no legitimate place in the family. A good reminder for all of us:

This Sunday, Providence will welcome Rev. John Canales. Those who attended our service of installation and recognition last year will remember that Pastor Canales gave one of the charges during that service.

Pastor Canales is presently the pastor of Christ Presbyterian Church in Flower Mound, but he is in the process of making preparations for serving as a missionary in the south Pacific. He will be talking about his plans for mission work during our Sunday School hour at 10:00 before preaching during our morning worship service.

This will be a great Sunday to attend at Providence!
