On Thursday, we had the opportunity to hear from Taylor Crawford, Agent with New York Life about a topic that is often overlooked: long-term care planning.

Taylor shared that about 70% of Americans turning 65 are expected to need some form of long-term care during their lives. But for Taylor, this isn’t just a statistic—it’s personal.

Her own grandparents are currently experiencing the realities of caregiving, giving Taylor firsthand insight into how quickly care needs can affect an entire family. What happens to one person can impact a spouse, children, finances, daily life, and the entire family dynamic.

Taylor also discussed an important misconception: Medicare generally does not cover ongoing custodial care, which is why understanding your options and having a plan ahead of time matters.
