This week we lost a good friend, and bandmate of mine, Chris Krisak. I first met Chris over 30 years ago, and we became fast friends with a common love for music. He encouraged me, as a beginning musician, to pursue music and tought me a lot. I can honestly say that I would not be playing today if it were not for his encouragement at the beginning.

Chris and I played together in several bands over the years, most recently with Kings Highway, who many have seen me pull double duty with on Rogue shows. Kings were born out of a desire for Chris to get back on stage after a cancer diagnosis about four years ago. Together with our long time friend and drummer, Mike Pavisich, and Chris’ long time friend and vocalist, Mike Gornall, Kings Highway came to be. And for about three years, we had a blast playing our favorite covers for you.

For me, Mike, and Mike, it was a no-brainer that we were going to give 100% of ourselves to this project for Chris, because Chris gave 100% of himself with everything he did. As our reward, these last three years have been incredibly rewarding, and memories I will never in my life forget.

I’ll miss the fun rehersals, the incredible live performances, and Chris’ infectious laugh. Never had a person lit up a room as much. I am thankful to my Rogue bandmates for giving me the space I needed to devote enough time and energy to the Kings, and for welcoming Chris into the club.

Thank you to Rogue fans and friends that also supported Kings Highway. It meant a lot to Chris, as it did for all of us, to see a packed house. Nothing drives a musician more that a good rowdy crowd, but in all honesty that is one thing that kept Chris going for as long as it did. We cannot thank you enough.

Much love from Rogue to Chris’ wife, Nina, their kids, and grand kids. Thank you for sharing Chris with us when he had little time left.

Need a pick me up? Rogue has you covered! We have a spectacular show tonight at The Draft House Saloon in Brunswick! Four bands, from acoustic, to hard rock starting at 6pm with AT33. Flattop and box 7, Rogue at 8:00, followed by the amazing Staats Brothers Band!
This is also a fundraiser for the Down Syndrome Association of Northeast Ohio. We are raffling off a booze basket, and there are 50/50 drawings!
Come on out and blow off some steam, and help out the cause!
