A few weeks ago, we delivered two pallets of compost to Roosevelt Island in 's District 5 to help boost 's nature and garden initiatives! With , we built the 1st Sugi Miyawaki Method Pocket Forest (a reforestation method particularly useful in urban areas as it creates dense forests in small spaces) in New York alongside Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation. This compost will feed the youth center garden, 's compost giveaway, school and library gardens & urban farms, and toddler group plantings. Love to see it! πŸŒ±πŸ’—πŸŒ³

Let’s get NYC Community Composting funded! Joinure all our community composting organizations can continue free, accessible, community-based programming on composting and environmental stewardship citywide. Community composting organizations are doing the work, neighborhood by neighborhood.

Join us every Thursday in June to phone bank for community composting and thank New York City Council for funding community composting and making composting accessible, and encourage them to continue this essential funding for FY27! Sign up to make the calls and receive a calendar reminder on your day. By scheduling calls, we can show the breadth of support New Yorkers have for community composting!

We will be holding a check in hour at noon each day for those who want to review instructions or have questions or just want to touch base.
