We recently designed these custom tees for FasCast Foundry, and the goal was to create something their team would actually want to wear—not just another company logo printed across a shirt.

Both designs were built around what they do every day: pouring iron, making castings, foundry work, and a whole lot of heat. 🔥

Sometimes AI absolutely nails the VISION… but the final product still needs a little human intervention.

This client came to me with AI-generated brochure and business card concepts they loved and wanted to have professionally printed.

The AI concept gave us a great direction for the overall look, but there was one problem — it created a 5-fold brochure when there was really only enough content for a tri-fold.

Rather than trying to force the content into a format that didn't make sense, I used their AI concept as inspiration and redesigned it as a professional tri-fold brochure, keeping the same overall look and feel they loved.

I also recreated the business card concept and properly set everything up for professional printing — correct sizing, layout, resolution, bleed and print-ready files.

That's the part AI can't always account for: how a design is actually going to function once it leaves the screen and becomes a physical product.

Yep. 🙌🏼 But sometimes there's a step between the design you created with AI and the finished merch.

This client already had a logo they wanted to use, but the original AI-generated image wasn't in the format needed for production.

So first, I recreated the design as clean vector artwork and prepared it for production. Then we could take that same idea and turn it into actual merchandise.

And the best part? They now have usable artwork they can continue using for future apparel, signage, promotional products and more.

You don't need to know what file type you need, what DPI means or why someone keeps asking you for an EPS file.

This client came to me with an AI-generated graphic and needed it recreated as vector artwork.

Why does that matter?

Unlike a JPG or PNG, vector artwork can be scaled up or down without becoming blurry or pixelated — making it much more versatile for things like apparel, signage, promotional products, print materials and more.

Instead of throwing away a concept they already loved and starting from scratch, I recreated the artwork into clean, scalable vector files they can continue using across their business.

Since we have some new faces around here — and today officially marks 5 years in business — it feels like the perfect time for a little reintroduction.

Hi, I’m Cassandra! 👋 I’m the owner and the person behind High Gear Designs.

And next to me is my husband, Michael. While you probably won’t find him designing your logo, building your website, or embroidering your order, he has been my biggest support system since day one. Through every crazy idea, late night, big decision, stressful project, new piece of equipment and “I think I’m going to try this…” — he’s been there.

High Gear Designs started five years ago and has grown and changed SO much since then.

Today, I get to help individuals and businesses bring their ideas to life through custom apparel & embroidery, promotional products, print & signage, branding & graphic design, websites, and plenty of those “Hey, is this something you can make?” projects that somehow always find their way to me.

One of my favorite things about this business is that there really isn't a one-size-fits-all project. Sometimes it's helping a business build their brand from the ground up. Sometimes it's hundreds of promotional items. And sometimes it's creating one personalized gift that means something to somebody.

Building a business requires taking chances when you have absolutely no idea how they’re going to turn out. Putting your work out there, trying something new, hearing no, making mistakes, changing directions and choosing to keep going anyway.

You can’t win if you’re too afraid to get in the game.

I’ve always loved this quote, but today felt like the right day to share it. Dolly had a way of wrapping a whole lot of wisdom into a few simple words, usually with a little humor and a whole lot of heart.

Here’s to taking the chance, even when you don’t know what’s waiting around the corner. 🤍
