Legacy hangs on the wall of our conference room — literally.

This photo of our previous president is a daily reminder of where we came from. Graymills was founded in Chicago in 1939 by John Gray and Lloyd Mills as a pump manufacturer for machine tool coolants. In 1980, the Shields family took ownership — and the company has been family-run ever since, now 46 years and counting under three generations of leadership.

86 years of manufacturing history. 46 of them building this company as a family business. Same commitment to quality, same commitment to the people who make it — just a lot more square footage than we started with.

The Graymills BTU Series digital benchtop ultrasonic washers use 40kHz ultrasonic cavitation with sweep technology to clean intricate parts a brush can't reach — down in threads, blind holes, and fine tolerances. Open the door on a Tempest™ SWF and here's what you're looking at.

A 33" turntable rated for parts up to 1,500 lbs, inside a stainless steel chamber built with a 43" working height and 90 gallons of operating fluid capacity. A 60 GPM pump feeds the spray system, with easy-change nozzle saddles and a swing-down spray bar that adjusts for shorter parts — no re-fixturing required between jobs.

A 9kW heater and digital temperature controls keep fluid at temp with a real-time readout, and removable stainless steel panels make tank cleanout straightforward instead of a half-day job. Add the optional 50-micron bag filtration and 12" oil skimmer, and the fluid stays usable — and the nozzles stay clear — cycle after cycle.

For a shop running a mix of parts through one washer, that combination of capacity and interior flexibility means fewer machine changeovers and less time spent re-fixturing between jobs.
