Spring is upon us!

-Changing the humidifier setting from Winter to Summer will help your home maintain the proper humidity settings which is important for the health and comfort of your home!

-Test/Change the batteries in all your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detector.
-Clean and secure all gutters and downspouts.
-As seasons change, minor adjustments to door catches may be needed to create a tighter seal between your door and weather-stripping.
-Inspect the roof materials and roof flashings for any damage.

Homebuilders are still feeling cautious, but they’re starting to see signs of improvement ahead. In 2026, the housing market should be steadier but still slow. Mortgage rates are expected to average 6.3%, home prices may rise about 2.2%, and existing-home sales could increase 1.7%. Inventory is also expected to grow about 9%, creating a more balanced market. Buyers may gain a bit more negotiating power, and affordability should improve as incomes outpace inflation. Renters, especially in the South and West, may also see lower rents.

First-time buyers should benefit from slightly better affordability and more homes for sale, though the market will remain competitive.
