The Crossroads Group Teams Up with Freedom River (https://freedomriverflows.org/)

Some years ago, Jeff and Janna Yeakey had a vision…to deliver a peaceful place for veterans and their families where they can relax, recover, and rejuvenate in Michigan’s beautiful outdoors. This project is well under way to completion on Winans Lake Road in Hamburg Township.

Seeing a need to improve the grounds through planting of native trees and flowers, the Crossroads Group held its first work day on November 1st. Volunteers prepared grounds for planting next spring as well as planting 150 seedlings. The plan is to hold a work day each year to continue restoring more area with native species.

At a time when disinformation is drowning out the truth, social media is one of the most powerful tools we have to push back. Join the Sierra Club Truth Tellers for a virtual training on September 10th that will equip you with the knowledge and motivation to speak up, share facts, and change the narrative — right from your feed. This is the first of a series of three monthly trainings.

Each paper fish represents our shared commitment to protecting our water and the Great Lakes, and we’re asking everyone to jump in and make a splash.
We all need clean water, but the Line 5 pipeline is threatening the Great Lakes and the drinking water of 40 million people. This pipeline puts our waterways, lands and way of life in jeopardy.
