In a times of crisis the government can suspend hours of service rules (logbooks) for truckers. It looks like the FMCSA is getting ready to do this on a federal level after numerous states already imposed their own suspensions. A suspensions of HOS rules in a time like this would not be for all drivers. Instead, it would be specific to those hauling loads of specific items. A move like this will help with restocking stores with essential items currently in high demand due do COVID-19.
